Well that was a decent way to end today's proceedings.

There are two EFL games tomorrow after Sheffield Wednesday's League Cup tie at Sunderland on Thursday.

The Owls go to Brentford in the Championship, while the Black Cats host Scunthorpe in League One.

Both those games kick-off at 15:00 BST, and we'll have live coverage from 14:45 BST.

Stoke striker Peter Crouch told Sky Sports:

"I knew what I was doing (with the headed goal), I was just trying to get anything on it.

"It was a frustrating game again, we've had a bit of a wake up call, but we've showed a bit more character today and got a result.

"I believe I can make a contribution whether it's from the bench or starting games. I'm still enjoying it and will go on as long as I can."

Preston's Ben Pearson told Sky Sports:

"In the first half we were the better side and created numerous chances, they lacked that final bit of quality.

"But in the second half they were on top, so a draw is a fair result."

And that's the end of a highly entertaining tea-time game in the Championship.

Peter Crouch's second-half header salvages a point for Stoke who remain winless.

It was the 37-year-old's 200th club goal.

Preston are pumping balls into the box, Stoke are clearing everything.

The Stoke midfielder goes in high on Ben Pearson, but avoids a second yellow as the referee plays advantage. It's wasted by Alan Browne as his shot is blocked.

Erik Pieters is down for Stoke. Is he time wasting? The Preston fans think so.

The defender manages to walk to the touchline and is back on. All a bit pointless.

Preston are still going for it.

Louis Moult lays the ball off to Paul Gallagher and the first-half goalscorer pings a low shot just wide from about 25 yards.

About 20 or so minutes are left at Deepdale and I wouldn't rule out another couple of goals.

It's been that sort of game. Gary Rowett looks a tad happier in the Stoke dugout. His side have looked much more potent since those couple of substitutions.

Now Alex Neil makes a double switch for Preston.

Lukas Nmecha makes way for Louis Moult and Graham Burke is replaced by Tom Barkhuizen.

It looked as though the ball came off the back of Peter Crouch's bonce. But the former England striker and Stoke won't care a jot. They're level.

Meanwhile Crouchy loops another header over, but he's just offside. Stoke are sniffing another goal here.

It's a double change for Stoke.

James McClean and Saido Berahino are hauled off, on come Mame Biram Diouf and veteran Peter Crouch.
