HT: Bournemouth 1-0 Cardiff
Cardiff City fans, your side might be a goal down at half-time in this game, but here's some cause for optimism.
AFC Bournemouth have never won on the opening day in their three seasons in the Premier League.
And not just that, but Neil Warnock has lost just one of his past 10 meetings against the Cherries as a manager.
There's life in this one, yet.
Bournemouth 1-0 Cardiff
Well that was a fun first half, eh?
After a pretty drab opening 20 minutes, things certainly livened up a bit. But it's the Cherries who go into the dressing rooms on top.
Can Cardiff claw their way back after the break?
Bournemouth 1-0 Cardiff
Junior Hoilett, who's dusted himself off after that Charlie Daniels tackle, puts in a high cross from inside the box towards Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who nods towards goal but it's cleared and he claims a corner but once again, it's not given.
Maybe Cardiff aren't out of this one just yet.
Bournemouth 1-0 Cardiff
Ouch.
Charlie Daniels takes out Junior Hoilett with a sliding tackle from behind and he goes into the book.
The Bournemouth defender is lucky to stay on the field for that as Hoilett is helped from the field.
Bournemouth 1-0 Cardiff
Big chance for the Bluebirds.
Joe Ralls sends in a curling cross towards the far post into the path of Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, but he can't quite get to it in time to poke it into the net.
A shame, that. Probably Cardiff's best chance of getting on the scoresheet this afternoon.
Bournemouth 1-0 Cardiff
Can Cardiff use that penalty save to inspire them? From the restart, I'd say no. But there's still time yet.
Bournemouth yet again work the ball towards the Cardiff 18-yard line and Joe Bennett looks to have brought down David Brooks just inside the box, but a second penalty in under 10 minutes is not given.
Brooks doesn't look happy about that.
Bournemouth 1-0 Cardiff
What a save from Cardiff City keeper Neil Etheridge, who is on his Premier League debut, no less!
He guesses the right way and dives to deny Callum Wilson and turn the ball away for a corner, which Bournemouth waste as the Bluebirds clear.
Bournemouth 1-0 Cardiff
Drama at the Vitality Stadium.
Bruno Ecuele Manga makes contact with Callum Wilson in the box and Kevin Friend points to the spot.
That looked soft from the television replays, I must say.
Bournemouth 1-0 Cardiff
Impressive stuff from Bournemouth as basically all of their outfield players had a touch of the ball before David Brooks fired a cross inside the box which was clearly blocked away for a corner.
But referee Kevin Friend says nothing doing and gives a goal-kick instead, much to the surprise of the frosted-tipped Brooks.

Bournemouth's technical superiority was beginning to show before that goal, with their movement and quick passing leaving Cardiff players in their wake.
The visitors' brute force has not come into the equation yet and, for Fraser's goal, there was no sign of the defensive organisation which was such a feature of their promotion from the Championship last season.
Bournemouth 1-0 Cardiff
Bournemouth have their tails up now and Joshua King tries his luck with a shot across the face of goal which sails wide.
This is developing into quite an entertaining game.
Ryan Fraser
We've waited quite some time in this match for a shot on target and the first one we get results in a goal. Finally.
Ryan Fraser pounces on some poor Cardiff defending as he finds himself unmarked inside the box and he taps in with ease.
Neil Warnock will not be happy with that but it's certainly perked up what's been a quiet game so far.

David Brooks is an exciting prospect, as those who watched Sheffield United and Wales last season will have seen.
However talented he may be, though, his new hairstyle - blonde highlights or 'frosty tips' - is somewhat questionable. Shades of Wham! era George Michael?
Bournemouth 0-0 Cardiff
Cardiff City keeper Neil Etheridge has just been warned by referee Kevin Friend to get a move on when taking a goal kick.
After 20 minutes on the opening day of the season. Excellent.
Bournemouth 0-0 Cardiff
Wales manager Ryan Giggs is in the stands. What do you think he makes of David Brooks' start to this game?
I've been impressed with his passing ability so far this afternoon.
Bournemouth 0-0 Cardiff
Bournemouth are beginning to settle into this game a bit more, now.
Joshua King plays a neat low ball into the box which is well blocked by Bruno Ecuele Manga for a corner.
However the Cherries choose to play it quick and short and King ends up putting it out for a goal-kick without much fanfare.

I saw David Brooks play a few times for Sheffield United last season. Bournemouth have purchased raw talent, but his potential is huge.
It speaks volumes that Eddie Howe has chosen to start Brooks today. They probably saw him as a bit of a project when they purchased him, but he's clearly impressed during pre-season.
Bournemouth 0-0 Cardiff
At the other end of the field, Bobby Reid latches onto a neat pass into the box and fires a shot that goes about 100 yards high and wide.
The home crowd quite enjoyed that one.
Bournemouth 0-0 Cardiff
After a stage of promising passing from Bournemouth, Cherries captain Andrew Surman cheaply loses the ball and Cardiff are away.
Fortunately for the hosts, they can't work their way upfield and Bournemouth win the ball back and Callum Wilson unleashes a close-range shot that flies narrowly wide of the mark.
