  4. Sarri expecting 'some problems' early onpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 11 August 2018

Huddersfield Town v Chelsea (15:00 BST)

Some very interesting quotes from new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri in the build-up to this game.

The 59-year-old former Napoli boss has had just four weeks since his appointment to prepare for today's Premier League opener at Huddersfield, and has been without many of his leading players due to the World Cup.

"I hope that the second part of the season, for us, will be very good with a lot of points," Sarri said. "I expect in the first part of the season some problems."

Asked what issues he expects, Sarri added: "On the results. Maybe the performances in the first part of the season will not be in line with the potential of the squad. Maybe, in the first part."

Getting your excuses in early? After all, owner Roman Abramovich is not exactly known for his patience.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri starts his life as a Premier League manager by keeping Eden Hazard and Olivier Giroud on the bench after their World Cup exploits with Belgium and France respectively.

There are debuts for midfielder Jorginho and £71m goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, the replacement for Thibaut Courtois, who has gone to Real Madrid. Mateo Kovacic, who moved in the opposite direction on loan is not included and there is also a rare start for Ross Barkley in Chelsea's midfield.

Chelsea: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Rudiger, Alonso, Barkley, Kante, Jorginho, Willian, Morata, Pedro.

Subs: Hazard, Loftus-Cheek, Caballero, Moses, Giroud, Zappacosta, Christensen.

  7. Sarri's turnpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 11 August 2018

Premier League champions in season one, FA Cup winners in season two and then, like so many before him, Antonio Conte is booted out at Chelsea.

Winning the main two domestic trophies in his first two seasons at the club was not enough to save Conte as a failure to qualify for the Champions League saw him dismissed.

And so, once again, the Chelsea managerial baton is passed on.

Next up is another Italian, Maurizio Sarri, who has already lost in the Community Shield and had to find another goalkeeper. His league opener comes with a tricky looking away fixture at Huddersfield Town, so will it be a winning Premier League start for Chelsea's new boss?
