PJ: Mourinho got it tactically right today. Playing Fellaini to sit n pivot in the midfield n drop back to provide the extra height in defence really worked well to deal with Burnley's crosses into their big strikers.

"I think there's a lot of drama around these things these days. Previously everyone would get yellow cards and everyone gets on with it. But now we go with what the referee decides."

On the result: "It had been an amazing start, now we are very happy but we know today has been a very hard game and we know Tottenham are a very good team. Today they scored first, after a good reaction we were able to get the points.

On Deeney motivating the team: "Not only today always, he has a special personality. For us I’ve already seen and said he is very important. Today he showed that again but it is no surprise for me.

On Cathcart's goal: "All the player are enjoying no only Craig, Nathaniel Chalobah is back after a long period. We are in a good moment and trying to enjoy it knowing we have won four games but only four games

On Watford's aims: We are thinking the next game, the best mentality to try and achieve big objectives.

On the fans: "I want to say thank you to them because they always help us a lot, playing at Vicarage road we are very strong. I think all the supporters are enjoying and I am very happy for them"

Tottenham Hotspur

On the result: "Disappointing, we know we can play better. We knew they were a threat from set pieces and they scored twice. The boys are disappointed. We didn't pass quickly enough, we were slow with the ball and not clinical today.

"We know Watford are a tough team to play, Deeney and Gray love to battle. We took the lead but Watford had a lot of momentum in the second half. We can play so much better.

"We tried but we can do better with the passing, the movement. But give credit to Watford."

Watford

Watford goalscorer Craig Cathcart speaking to Sky Sports:

On the result: "Since we got promoted this has been one of our tougher fixtures, we have not been able to beat Spurs in a while so this is a big step, four wins so far this season, now we’ve got a break and a game against Manchester United to prepare for."

On Spurs' goal: "It was a bit unlucky, desperate to get the ball away. Showed a great reaction to come back and win the game is absolutely brilliant."

On his goal: "I just saw the fight of the ball and got a great connection, great to see it go in. A great confidence booster for us."

Watford

More from Watford captain Troy Deeney, speaking to BBC Sport: "Four wins out of four is a huge achievement for a club of our side. We're not naive to think we're going to go on and win the league. We've got a lot to work on. I think the gaffer has to take credit because he done a lot of work with us with set pieces. We are just going to do our job. We've got an added boost and added confidence from this result."

Manchester United

Man Utd manager Jose Mourinho speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think it was a very, very good performance with a result which was short.

"They played very well as a team, and there were very good individual performances and we should score many more goals. The result shouldn't have been open until the last minute.

"There were lots of good performances but Fellaini was fundamental, together with Smalling and Lindelof. Luke Shaw had a good performance and there were many others, too.

"We lost so many chances and Joe Hart made important saves.

"I don't remember such a comfortable performance as we've showed in the last two matches."

On Pogba's penalty: "I never blame a player for missing penalties. I blame the ones who refuse to go up there. Paul's scored some good ones for us."

On Rashford's red card: "I don't know what happened. I would say it was naive. It was a kid and a very experienced man. Bardsley's been in the game for 20 years and Marcus is a naive boy."

Jose Mourinho marched over to the Manchester United supporters at the final whistle and got as close as possible before applauding them for their backing at Turf Moor.

It even looked like he handed over his coat to one lucky fan in gratitude.

Hope it fits otherwise there is a strange present going to be given out over the next few days.

Burnley

Burnley keeper Joe Hart on Sky Sports: "Frustrating is the word. I thought United played well first half. It's an awful excuse but we were tired and they were on it.

"They played some nice, intricate play. Big Rom [Lukaku] up front is too hot to handle at times. We tried to stay compact but we gave them too much time 20 yards from goal.

"Ultimately we've not really troubled the United goal.

On the penalty save to deny Paul Pogba: "Paul's good at what he does. He's a player who likes to feel what he does. He makes decisions late. That's his game, I checked his run up. I've got my own technique against players like that and it worked.

"The international break cones at a good time. We're going to reset and we're going to fly out at Wolves and get back to everything that made this club successful."

Watford

Watford captain Troy Deeney, speaking to Sky Sports: "We showed a lot of character. We were disappointed in the first half but we showed resilience. A lot of teams would fold after going behind to Tottenham.

"At 0-0 we went away from our game and made a lot of silly mistakes in the middle of the pitch. But we got back to what we do. We caused them problems and we're big lumps - not many defenders like it.

"This result gives us confidence. Four wins is a huge achievement. But we cannot get too carried away because we've got Manchester United next."

We came into the game knowing one of the team's 100% unbeaten run was expected to go. We expected Tottenham to still have theirs and for 60 minutes that looked to be the case. They were on top defensively and got the goal.

Then they took their foot off the gas, sloppy passing, gave free kicks away in dangerous positions, Watford took advantage. The fans got behind Watford and Tottenham never recovered.

Manchester United

Man United goalscorer Romelu Lukaku speaking on Match of the Day: "That was really big. In the last game we started well but didn't take our chances. This time we did.

"We knew we had to grind out the result in the second half. We have character and we need to be more like that.

"The last game against Tottenham - we were disappointed. Today we did score and we have to keep winning to try and catch the teams above us.

"Now we go into the international break and can switch off a bit. The manager has time to analyse our performances for the rest of the games in September."

When asked if Mourinho will let them 'switch off', Lukaku says: "Oh yeah. He's totally different behind the scenes and he'll allow us to."
