It’s a beautiful summer’s evening in Trondheim, but not too warm, and the pitch looks to be in wonderful condition. Brendan Rodgers seemed very relaxed as he chatted pre-match, despite the high stakes involved. The Lerkendal Stadion is only expected to be about half-full tonight, with about 12,000 tickets sold by this afternoon. That probably tells you a lot about how confident the locals are of a successful comeback.

  2. 'We know we can give them problems'published at 19:09 British Summer Time 1 August 2018

    Rosenborg v Celtic (agg 1-3) (19:45)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on BBC Sportsound: "A lot of the guys have been back training for a number of weeks now. Thankfully, the likes of Tom [Rogic] was back and Mikael Lustig but they're not quite up to match speed yet but it's still great to have those guys on the bench.

"We've got a very strong starting team and obviously we've got players on the bench that can influence the game.

"Any game in European football, firstly you've got to defend well, especially away from home so we anticipate them to come and maybe want to chase the game and press the game early on.

"We have our quality in our own football game that we know can give them problems as well as we saw last week.

"If we can get the first goal it makes it really difficult for them."

    Rosenborg v Celtic (agg 1-3) (19:45)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers names an unchanged starting line-up following last week's 3-1 win at home to Rosenborg. Mikael Lustig returns to the matchday squad as a substitute, as does Jonny Hayes.

One change to the Rosenborg line-up with Alexander Soderlund replacing Jonathan Levi, who is on the bench.

  6. Decider in Trondheimpublished at 18:59 British Summer Time 1 August 2018

    Rosenborg v Celtic (agg 1-3) (19:45)

Celtic face the latest hurdle in their pursuit of Champions League group stage football but are in a strong position to overcome it in Trondheim, Norway.

Brendan Rodgers' side lead Rosenborg 3-1 following last week's first leg in Glasgow.

Win, draw or lose by a margin of one goal tonight and the Scottish champions will progress.

However, a 2-0 win for Rosenborg would send them through on the away goals rule and a 3-1 home win after 90 minutes would result in extra-time and potentially penalties.
