  1. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

I thought that little rumble of excitement might ignite things here at Molineux.

    So far, I was wrong.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 52 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Helder Costa appears to have picked up an injury so he limps off.

Record signing Adama Traore, who always looks like he might do something sensational, joins the fray in his place.

He might enjoy a run at the recently-booked Bertrand.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 51 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

    It's all happening.

Diogo Jota joins Bertrand in the book almost straight from the free kick. Mario Lemina is meandering out of defence and gets round Jota who seems to trip over his feet and catches the Gabon international.

A sore one for Lemina though who receives treatment.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Saints skipper Ryan Bertrand is in no mood to let Joao Moutinho wriggle free down the right.

With Charlie Austin just watching, Bertrand goes in high on the midfielder's leg and is rightly booked.

Wolves get us back under way.

Hoping for more urgency in the second half.

Easy to see where most of this game has been played.

Saints edging the midfield battle for much of the first half but Wolves carrying a greater threat.

Charlie Austin and Danny Ings haven't really had a sniff.

  7. Postpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    HT: Wolves 0-0 Southampton

It's been fairly quiet between these two sides.

Wolves started on the front foot but Southampton wrested that back and created a few chances of their own.

Neither keeper has been particularly stretched though and goalless is about right.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    HT: Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Not much to get excited about here at Molineux.

The teams go in all square.

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

    Oh dear.

    Shocking corner from Mo Elyounoussi.

He does the whole arm-up routine and promptly shanks his cross back behind the goal.

    Mark Hughes looks on unimpressed.

  10. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Joao Moutinho swings in a cross from deep looking for the run of Raul Jimenez.

The Mexican gets his head on it but Cedric's pressure is enough and the header loops high over Alex McCarthy's crossbar.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 38 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

    Smart stop from Alex McCarthy.

Matt Doherty's first cross is poor but Wesley Hoedt's clearance is equally so, rebounding back to Doherty. The right back plays it back in and Raul Jimenez's clever clipped attempt is stopped well by McCarthy at his near post.

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

It's all a bit subdued round the Molineux stands.

Southampton certainly on top although Nathan Redmond presents Raul Jimenez with a chance to motor forward. He tees up Joao Moutinho but his effort is well wide.

Nathan Redmond is also getting into the game. He scampers away down the left and picks out Danny Ings with a clever inside pass. Ings advances and lets fly from distance, the ball deflecting off Willy Bolly's giant frame and out for Southampton's first corner.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 28 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Mo Elyounoussi is starting to look dangerous.

This time, a clever pass from Nathan Redmond finds the Norwegian peeling off the back of Jonny. Rui Patricio is out quickly to smother the chance and Elyounoussi's follow-up cross is easily claimed.

    Much better from the Saints.

  15. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

    Chance for Southampton.

Mo Elyounoussi picks out Charlie Austin in a bit of space. The recalled striker hits it early and Danny Ings almost brings it under control six yards out. It would have been a simple finish for a man of his quality.

As it is, the ball drifts out for a goal kick.

  16. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Nice jinking run from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to get to the edge of the Wolves box. He's losing his balance though and under pressure from Willy Boly tumbles to the ground.

Neat skills but no free kick for the Danish midfielder.

  17. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

    Close for Wolves.

Joao Moutinho's whipped corner picks out Ryan Bennett towering in the middle. His downward header is firm enough but straight at Alex McCarthy who gathers at the second attempt.

  18. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Nope, still no yellow card for Jannik Vestergaard.

Diogo Jota is at him again, skipping free in midfield and playing it past the Dane. Vestergaard blocks him off, Jota goes down but referee Stuart Attwell is again happy with a free kick award.

Some of the Wolves players look bemused.

  19. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Southampton

Mo Elyounoussi forces the first save from Rui Patricio. Charlie Austin wriggles free on the left of the box and cuts it back for the winger.

Sadly for Saints his effort from outside the area is weak and trickles into the Portuguese keeper's arms.

Mark Hughes looks disgruntled on the touchline.

His team are not keeping the ball well at the moment.
