As the match wore on towards half time, there was only really one side in it and you felt the goal was coming. I'm presuming it was a cross, because, if he's meant it, it's Van Basten-esque from [Mitja Viler].

  3. Stat attackpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    HT Rangers 1-1 Maribor

Rangers have had control of a fair chunk of this game at Ibrox, but Maribor seem to be making the most of what they have.

  4. HALF-TIME Rangers 1-1 Mariborpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

What a first half at Ibrox. Rangers looked in complete control after Alfredo Morelos' opener, but the warning signs were there for Steven Gerrard's men.

Allan McGregor and James Tavernier were both called upon to keep the Ibrox club ahead before Mitja Viler's stunning strike levelled the game.

Morelos will be frustrated that he didn't grab a second to double Rangers' lead moments before that equaliser.

Maribor are certainly a step up in class compared to Osijek in the second qualifying round.

The visitors are looking to knock a Scottish side out of European competition for a fifth time in succession and the Slovenians are proving troublesome once again.

A big half-time team talk from Steven Gerrard coming up.

Half time and it is all to play for at Easter Road.

Both sides are without the prize assets - John McGinn having left Hibs and Erling Braut Haland on his way out of Molde - and they are both lacking that cutting edge.

Stevie Mallan has been the star man, the midfielder testing the goalkeeper twice and also striking the crossbar with long-range efforts.

GOAL Rangers 1-1 Mariborpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Mitja Viler

The ultimate suckerpunch for Rangers. Within a minute of Alfredo Morelos having the ball in the net only for it to be disallowed, Maribor equalise in the other.

Amir Dervisevic's switched pass is taken first-time on the volley from Mitja Viler at the edge of the Rangers box.

His shot stuns everyone and flies over goalkeeper Allan McGregor into the top corner. Ibrox is silenced.

  7. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Rangers 1-0 Maribor

Slack play at the back from Maribor presents a glorious chance for Rangers.

Daniel Candieas pounces on it before squaring to Alfredo Morelos, but the Colombian is flagged for offside.

  8. McLeish watching at Ibroxpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Rangers 1-0 Maribor

Scotland manager Alex McLeish is in the crowd at Ibrox, most likely keeping an eye on the performance of Allan McGregor in the Rangers' goal.

Jamie Murphy and Ross McCrorie are among the other Scots in the Rangers squad- they're on the bench.

  9. Rangers living dangerouslypublished at 20:22 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Rangers 1-0 Maribor

A free-kick wide on the left from Maribor causes havoc in the Rangers defence.

Brilliant delivery from Amir Dervisevic whips into the box with both defence and Allan McGregor standing static.

Thankfully for the Premiership side, no Maribor playing gambled on the delivery as the ball bounces just wide off the far post for a goal kick.

Steven Gerrard stands on the touchline with his arms folded.

  10. Slack from Hibspublished at 20:22 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Hibernian 0-0 Molde

Hibs are looking vulnerable at the back and Daniel Chima should do better than head wide from 12 yards after the Nigerian striker is left unmarked at a corner.

  12. CLOSE!published at 20:17 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Hibernian 0-0 Molde

Molde haven't yet woken up to the threat of Stevie Mallan.

The midfielder has a third pot shot of the night and warms the palms of Andreas Linde for a second time.

Molde's goalkeeper doesn't look convincing as he pushes the shot from into the air and wide for a corner.

  13. McGregor to the rescue againpublished at 20:15 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Rangers 1-0 Maribor

    Rangers living dangerously.

Maribor carve the Ibrox defence open through captain Marcos Tavares' driving run and pass.

Amir Dervisevic gets on to it just inside the area, but Allan McGregor pulls off a terrific low save to deny the snapshot low down to his right.

Luka Zahovic tries to pounce on the rebound, but Rangers mop up the danger.

BBC Sport Scotland at Easter Road

The opening half hour has flown by here at Easter Road with both sides showing they have a creative players in their line-ups.

Stevie Mallan, in particular, for the home side looks more than capable of testing the Molde rearguard.

While the visitors have shown they can break quickly from the back through midfield, so far the trio of Efe Ambrose, Ryan Porteous and Paul Hanlon look relatively solid.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Rangers 1-0 Maribor

Jon Flanagan goes into the book. He contests a high ball with Denis Klinar on the half-way line and the Rangers defender's elbow connects with Klinar's face.

Referee Roi Reinshreiber showed no hesitation in flashing his yellow card. Flanagan complains but probably shouldn't.

  17. Molde mirroring Celticpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Hibernian 0-0 Molde

    Michael Stewart
Former Scotland midfielder on BBC Sportsound

Molde are set-up like Celtic. It's a back four that changes to a back three, with a full-back going forward. They rotate, they're fluid. In the midfield, they've two sitting, two in front, they close down the options and make it difficult for Hibs.

  18. CLOSE!published at 20:07 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Hibernian 0-0 Molde

Stevie Mallan is adopting a shoot on sight policy and, having already struck the crossbar, the former Barnsley midfielder's effort is this time pushed away by goalkeeper Andreas Linde before being cleared.

  19. Postpublished at 20:05 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Hibernian 0-0 Molde

It's end-to-end stuff at Easter Road. Efe Ambrose makes a desperate clearance in front of his own goal that sets Hibs on the counter attack and Florian Kamberi fires a shot across the face of the Molde goal.

  20. Save from McGregorpublished at 20:04 British Summer Time 9 August 2018

    Rangers 1-0 Maribor

Text commentator's curse strikes. Just as we say Rangers look solid and in control, Maribor almost strike.

Aleks Pihler is afforded time in the middle of the park to stride forward and pick his spot.

The shot is close to Allan McGregor, but the Rangers goalkeeper spills the shot before it is eventually scrambled clear.
