Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke was "reasonably satisfied" with a point at promoted Livingston.

"I knew it would be a tough game coming her," he told BBC Scotland. "Big game for Livi, first game back in the Premiership [at home] after a long time.

"We weathered the early storm quite well, probably created the best chance of the first half when Chris Burke hit the post and I thought we had much better control of the match in the second half without really creating enough to threaten the goalkeeper."

Livingston player-manager Kenny Miller is a happy man after helping his side to a first league point of the season against Kilmarnock.

"It's going to be like that every week for us," he told BBC Scotland. "Every week, leaving everything out there - absolutely everything out on the field.

"But I enjoyed it, I really enjoyed the game. I thought first half we played some fantastic stuff, dominated for long spells of the game.

"They've got a threat in [Jordan] Jones, Boydy (Kris Boyd) is up front and always a goal threat, [Chris] Burke he's done what he's done for years and years.

"They've got good players, very well organised. Either team could maybe have gone on and won it but I'm really, really happy because they are a good outfit."

Hamilton boss Martin Canning is understandably pretty pleased at a first away league win in nine games, substitute Steven Boyd's thumping strike good enough for victory at neighbours Motherwell.

“You know when you come here it’s never going to be pretty," he told BBC Scotland. "It’s going to be a game of making sure you defend properly and take the opportunities that you get and thankfully for us we did that.

"It was a fantastic strike from wee Boydy, who’d just come on the park and there was another chance with Ross (Cunningham) to potentially make it a little bit easier.

“I thought to a man everybody did what I expected them to do. Everybody just done their job. The boys get their reward for the hard work they put in.

“I actually put them (Boyd and Cunningham) on because Ross is very good at free-kicks, although he hits it into the wall. I put them on with the intention of Ross scoring but for Boydy I’ll take it.”

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson refused to be downcast by his side's Lanarkshire derby defeat at home to Hamilton.

“We dominated 90% of the game," he told BBC Scotland. "The goal is an incredible goal - what a finish - but we give a stupid free-kick away again that allows the goal to happen.

“It’s hard for me to be harsh on the players because there was a lot of good aspects of that game. It’s as solid as we’ve looked since we came back but I still have to get the right combination up front and make sure the strikers are working together. We created half-chances and didn’t take them so there’s a lot of frustration.

“We lost the first two games last season and went on to have an incredible season, so I can assure you we haven’t suddenly become a bad team.

“We need a little bit of end-product and better combination in the final third and a little bit of luck. But I’m not sure that boy [Accies match-winner Steven Boyd] will hit a strike like that ever again.”

Dundee manager Neil McCann says he has "no complaints" over the decision to award Aberdeen a penalty, which Gary Mackay-Steven converted for the only goal at Dens Park.

McCann told BBC Scotland: "I've seen it. I wanted an informed opinion before I came on to speak to yourselves and I've got no complaints, I think it's a penalty."

McCann though felt his side were unlucky to lose the game, and saw plenty of positives.

He said: "It's a sore one to take. I think that's four games now we've lost to Aberdeen by the odd goal. We lost by an odd goal last week, and this week we had opportunities to get ourselves in front. We've only got ourselves to blame.

"The encouraging thing is we're creating chances against a good Aberdeen side, but I'll look to try and bring one or two in before the end of the window. Overall there was lots of good stuff today."

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland he is hopeful of bringing in a new striker next week, saying "we have been close a few times but have hit the bar when trying to close the deal."

He said: "The good thing for me is when you come down that slope and you've got 3,000 fans behind that goal they can almost suck that ball into the net for you.

"Bruce Anderson came on and brought life into the crowd and the game. We brought him on at the right time.

"Although we're disappointed we haven't worked the goalkeeper more, and it's clear where we need to improve, for me I felt with the belief in the team the goal was coming. It's a penalty kick, rightly so. On the balance of play we deserved the three points."

Hearts fans may be jubilant after Kyle Lafferty's match-winner against Celtic lifted them clear at the top of the Premiership, but the Northern Irishman remains unclear whether his future lies with the Edinburgh club.

They recently rejected a £200,000 offer from Rangers, with Lafferty admitting he is open to a return to his former club.

"Obviously it is nice to have teams like Rangers interested in me," he told BBC Scotland. "I think everyone knows I am a Rangers supporter but it is up to the two clubs to work something out

"What Hearts have done for me has been superb, and hopefully I have repaid them with goals as well.

"All I am doing is focusing on working hard in training and on a Saturday and seeing where it takes me. I take each day at a time."

Gary Mackay-Steven's penalty is enough to settle a tight game at Dens Park.

It is harsh on Dundee though, who had plenty of chances. Josh Meekings in particular passed up a golden second half opportunity.

Manager Neil McCann will also likely have much to say about the penalty award - Dominic Ball's header hitting the arm of Genseric Kusunga who didn't seem to have much time to react.

However, Mackay-Steven was one of the stars of the show, constantly causing a threat on the wing, and cooly finished the spot kick. Bruce Anderson also showed much promise after his goal last week; thumping a volley off the bar.

Not a classic but Livingston have their first Premiership point of the season and also their first clean sheet.

Kilmarnock created the better chances but were largely restricted to shots from outside the box.

A magnificent Steven Boyd volley has won the Lanarkshire derby for Hamilton Academical.

It came very, very much against the run of play, with Motherwell dominating possession and creating far more chances. Gael Bigirimana and Curtis Main missed the best of them.

But 21-year-old Boyd reacted brilliantly as Ross Cunningham's free-kick spun back off the wall, rocketing a beautiful volley high beyond Trevor Carson in the home goal.

Cunningham himself had two golden opportunities to seal the win, lifting a close-range shot over, then miscuing off the outside of the post with the goal at his mercy in the dying minutes.

A mightily satisfying first league win of the season for Martin Canning's Accies. For Motherwell, back-to-back defeats, and zero Premiership goals so far.

This game should be over. Accies strike Motherwell on the break, and Ross Cunningham is played through on goal, with Trevor Carson scrambling across his box.

All he has to do is side-foot the ball home...but he miscues his shot off the outside of the post and away.

Somehow, the Steelmen are still in with a shout...

Substitute Danny Johnson lashes a left-foot shot narrowly wide from the edge of the Accies box. Motherwell need a goal - and quickly - to avoid a painful derby defeat.

Iain Wilson's long-range shot dips over the Livingston crossbar.

Kilmarnock certainly the better side in this second half but lacking a cutting edge in the final third.

Aberdeen do not have this game won yet. Dundee's Adil Nabi, off the bench for his debut, volleys a fierce effort which goalkeeper Joe Lewis does brilliantly to push wide.
