A hard-fought but entertaining first half here in the capital. Celtic just edging it in terms of chances and possession.

They’ve looked dangerous down the left with Kieran Tierney and Scott Sinclair linking well. Kyle Lafferty has been busy for Hearts but the injury to Christophe Berra could be a real concern for the home side.

  7. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 45+6 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

A clash between Steven Naismith and Jonny Hayes sees the latter tumble into the legs of Mikael Lustig, taking a whack on the head for his trouble. Naismith appears to have a kick at Hayes as he lies on the ground, but nothing materialises.

  8. 'Berra's foot caught in the turf'published at 13:18 British Summer Time 11 August 2018

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

    Peter Houston
Former Scotland assistant manager on BBC Sportsound

Berra's foot caught in the ground and it looks like it's twisted his knee. He's in pain and coming off. Good defenders always go back and cover their goalkeeper on the line - Smith does exceptionally.

Berra doesn't quit easily and when you see him jarring his knee into the turf - it could be a sore one.

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

Hearts centre-back Christophe Berra twisted awkwardly as Griffiths went round him there, and appears to have done himself a mischief.

A stretcher has been called for, and that is the end of the stalwart centre-back's afternoon. Major blow for Hearts. Aaron Hughes is on as a substitute.

  10. CLOSE!published at 45 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

Great feet from Leigh Griffiths, who skips past two Hearts players as he dribbles across the face of the Hearts box, before clipping it right-footed through keeper Zdenek Zlamal's legs, only for Michael Smith to clear it off the line.

  11. 'Breathless stuff'published at 13:12 British Summer Time 11 August 2018

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

    Chris McLaughlin

Breathless stuff in Gorgie with both sides fighting and scrapping for every loose ball. Chances few and far between so far but you can’t take your eyes off it.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 40 mins

    hearts 0-0 Celtic

Jonny Hayes clears the ball and gets a clatter from Ben Garuccio, who is booked. Didn't look a lot in that from the Australian full-back, but it leaves Hayes walking a bit gingerly.

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

I don't know why he went down that side of the wall with his left foot. It's always curling away. I thought he'd have gone over the wall with a bit of pace. He got it all wrong.

  15. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

Free-kick in a good position for Celtic. Scott Sinclair runs over it and leaves it to and Leigh Griffiths, but the Scotland striker curls it wide of the right-hand post.

  16. Kouassi 'getting caught' repeatedlypublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 11 August 2018

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

    Michael Stewart
Former Scotland midfielder on BBC Sportsound

Kouassi has been caught in the middle of the park on a number of occasions - that was almost a serious one for Celtic.

  17. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

Eboue Kouassi sells Callum McGregor short with a pass and Kyle Lafferty seizes on it, finding space to get a right-foot shot away, but it lacks the power to trouble Craig Gordon.

  18. 'No elbow' from Ikpeazupublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 11 August 2018

    Hearts 0-0 Celtic

    Peter Houston
Former Scotland assistant manager on BBC Sportsound

Ikpeazu went in the air and clashed heads with Hendry. It wasn't an elbow or anything the Celtic players were trying to indicate.

For me, this is very much a midfield game - not a lot of chances.

Uche Ikpeazu is proving a handful for Celtic's defenders with his physicality.

Jack Hendry comes off worse from a clash of heads with the Hearts striker, and when the ball drops to Steven Naismith on the edge of the box, his effort is blocked.
