Cardiff have shown some guts and determination, which we know they’ve got. It’s just that quality - which we know Fulham have got - that has been lacking. It’s such a massive game for both teams.

There's a real contrast of styles between the sides but that is making for a fascinating match, with Fulham's passing game crashing headlong into Cardiff's more direct approach. It's too close to call at the moment!

Fulham make a change with Floyd Ayite coming on for Jean Michael Seri.

Ryan Sessegnon cuts in from the right and curls in an effort that's punched away by Neil Etheridge. He's full of confidence now the young Fulham winger.

It's another half chance for Cardiff who win possession in midfield and immediately look for the head of Callum Paterson. His flick-on then falls into the path of Bobby Reid but his low cross is cleared. Moments later Vctor Camarasa's shot is deflected up into the air and down into the arms of Marcus Bettinelli.

Just as I say that, it's Cardiff who have a shot! It's wayward from Harry Arter though and the ball flies well over the bar.

Much like the first half, it's Fulham who have made the more assured start in the second period, it's all in the midfield for the moment though.

We are under way for the second half.

In fact, that was Calum Chambers' last contribution as he is replaced by Alfie Mawson - a few understandable boos for the former Swansea man.

You have to give credit to Slavisa Jokanovic for a tactical tweak that helped get his side back into the game. With Cardiff a threat down their left Denis Odoi was moved to right-back with Calum Chambers, who is on a yellow card, moving into the centre. Ryan Sessegnon was also deployed out on the right wing to stop Joe Bennett from getting forward.

You would have thought the Match of the Day producers would have earmarked this as a prime contender for the last game on tonight - but it's been an unexpected thriller.

Cue goalless second half.

Well, if you're a defensive coach that will have given you nightmares but for the rest of us that was a thoroughly entertaining 45 minutes. Cardiff showed great character to recover from going behind early on to that wonderful Andre Schurrle strike, but another touch of quality from Ryan Sessegnon ensures it's level at the break.

Another injury concern just before the break, this time for Fulham, as Calum Chambers goes down clutching his ankle. He hobbles off the pitch, but it looks like he will be OK.

Ryan Sessegnon has come of age. I've been harsh on him but he's a young lad and needs time.

He's took his goal well, he reads the ball and it's all about Aleksandar Mitrovic's movement and this is turning into a very good game.

There is everything to play for and it's too difficult to call.

More sloppy defending, this time from Fulham. They fail to deal with a routine ball over the top, Marcus Bettinelli steams out of his goal but his headed clearance is poor. Fortunately for the Fulham goalkeeper the eventual shot from Josh Murphy goes well over.

Five minutes to be added on at the end of the half.

This has been an wonderfully entertaining end-to-end game. Fulham are ending the half the stronger and earn a flurry of corners but nothing comes of them.

It was very nearly a defensive disaster for Cardiff! First Neil Etheridge's slack clearance can only go to Sean Morrison, and when he miscontrols, Ryan Sessegnon finds himself clean through on goal. Etheridge atones for his earlier error though by darting out of his area and blocking Sessegnon's shot with his body.
