Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg then tries his luck from the edge of the area but he fails to hit it cleanly and it flies over the bar.

Neil Warnock and Ralph Hasenhuttl are patrolling the edge of their respective technical areas, barking instructions at their players.

No surprise to see Yan Valery taken off at half-time for Southampton.

He had a chastening first 45 minutes, booked for a foul on Josh Murphy, who had him beaten on several occasions.

Valery is not the first right-back to struggle in such a way against Murphy this season, and he is unlikely to be the last.

Matt Targett tries to find Mario Lemina on the left flank but the full-back's cross fails to reach its intended recipient.

Targett will be a little disappointed with himself there.

Stephens is on for Yan Valery for the visitors - the first change of Ralph Hasenhuttl's Southampton tenure.

The hosts started slowly but grew into the game and went closest to breaking the deadlock, with Josh Murphy guilty of missing two good opportunities.

Ralph Hasenhuttl may have the nickname 'Klopp of the Alps' but there has been nothing Liverpool-esque about this Southampton display, save for the clean sheet so far.

The visitors have looked frail defensively and, after a couple of early chances, they haven't threatened in attack.
