Abdoulaye Doucoure should have scored for Watford there. I don't think Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina knew anything about that block.

Watford fans chant 'Deeney' as Troy barges Seamus Coleman into the advertising hoardings.

I wonder if that decision where referee Kevin Friend didn't give Watford anything at the end of the first half has weighed on his mind. There didn't look a lot in that.

That was a good opportunity for Watford.

So close to an equaliser, from one angle it looks like it's in. Roberto Pereyra hits a fine curling free-kick around the wall which goes into the side-netting. Jordan Pickford probably had it covered though.

    Everton 1-0 Watford

Free-kick to Watford as Yerry Mina fouls Isaac Success on the edge of the box. I say 'fouls' but Success went down easily.

Mina gets very theatrical in his reaction - he's a red card walking at the moment.

We've been told that the officials were having problems communicating on their headsets which is why there was a delay to the second half.

But it has been all resolved now.

Tom Hobart: Some truly appalling refereeing going on: The Mina potential 2nd yellow, the Everton goal, No whistle for a potential head injury when Richarlison was down on the halfway line. VAR will be great, but get the refs miked up. They need to explain themselves.

Robert Enright: Shocking that Richarlison celebrated his goal against Watford. He played in a massive 41 games for them and was there for almost a year!! No such as loyalty nowadays!

Jack in Yeovil: I don't see any reason why Richarlison shouldn't have celebrated. It wasn't like he's been there for long and he had no real connection with the football club

That could have been a straight red for Yerry Mina.

Javi Gracia, the Watford manager, is livid with that decision. If Kevin Friend thinks Isaac Success dived he has to book him, Mina was already on a yellow card.

The officials have to get some decisions right and they have got the key ones wrong in this half.

The boos are ringing round Goodison Park. I don't think that was a foul on Richarlison but it was a head knock. And Troy Deeney gets a foot on the ball at the other end and just can't turn it past Jordan Pickford.
