GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 Burnleypublished at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    Christian Eriksen

    Sorry Burnley.

That was heartbreaking for you lot.

But credit to Spurs. Just like against Barcelona, they persisted and got their reward.

The ball eventually finds its way into the area.

Harry Kane holds the ball up and plays it to Christian Eriksen who, as quick as a flash, fires his shot high into top corner at the near post.

    Wow!

    And double wow!

Son Heung-min misses by an inch.

The South Korean is found by chest of Fernando Llorente* but fires his angled shot just wide of Joe Hart's far post.

    Agony for Spurs fans.

    *Llorente did look offside initially.

    Chris Wood is clear!!!

But he's caught up and loses the ball.

I mean, what else would the outcome have been?

The Clarets eventually win a corner though.

    A twist?

Tottenham have been average. But this is where you see your top sides come away from a European performance in midweek and steal a result at the weekend.

This is a performance from the Burnley of old. When Sean Dyche first came into this league they were solid, they were mean, and this is one of those performances.

It's his eighth game of the season, although seven of those has been as sub.

Son Heung-min is on by the way for the home side - they've got all their firepower out on the pitch.

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

    Nigel Reo-Coker

You can see Burnley are starting to frustrate Tottenham, break their rhythm and slow the game down to play at their tempo. It may not be good on the eye but it is clever football

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 68 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

I'm just watching Aaron Lennon, his defensive duties have been magnificent - he's just tracking the ball wherever it's travels on the left of the pitch.

Meanwhile, Phil Bardsley goes into the book for timewasting on a throw-in.

Ref Graham Scott doesn't like timewasting.

  13. YELLOW CARD AND SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 64 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

Robbie Brady is booked by Graham Scott for timewasting on a free-kick.

Ironically, in these wet conditions, that's the first booking of the match.

If you have Christian Eriksen in your fantasy team then rejoice - he's on for Lucas Moura.

  14. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

Burnley are very much in "a point would be great" mode.

And, in all fairness to them, they're doing a great job after Lamela's shot from outside the area is quickly blocked.

  15. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

Spurs earn another corner, despite ref Graham Scott's decision being contested by Phil Bardsley.

The home side win yet another after the first corner is dealt with by the visiting defence.

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

Burnley's Robbie Brady is down on the pitch clutching his head - didn't quite see what happened.

He's OK though after being attended to by the medical staff.

He has to go off the pitch first before being allowed to continue.

    The rules say.

Lucas Moura is starting to buzz again - the Brazilian tries to deliver a cross into the area but it's cleared by the Clarets defence.

Then Kieran Tripper tries to find a team-mate but it goes out for a corner.

    The corner results in nowt.

  18. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

Burnley are looking a bit more spritely now.

Maybe Barnes' effort, and the fact they kept Spurs quiet in the first half, has given them a wee boost.

At the other end, Harry Kane's seemingly mishit cross almost catches out Joe Hart at the near post.

    But it doesn't.

  19. 'Time for a slight tweak'published at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

    Nigel Reo-Coker
Former West Ham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

Maybe it is time for a slight tweak (from Pochettino) to try and get the play out wide instead of through the middle and at the heart of Burnley where they have got enough numbers around the ball to stop Tottenham creating a really good opportunity.

  20. CHANCE!!!!published at 48 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

A Burnley free-kick finds Aaron Lennon on the right of the area. His first-time volley back into the middle picks out Ashley Barnes, whose acrobatic strike comes off Harry Kane.

    That was heading for goal!!!
