A special strike from Harry Kane MBE has Tottenham in front at half-time.

And this time Wolves' attack ends when Ivan Cavaleiro is lazily standing in an offside position. That'll probably be the last act of the first half.

  4. 'Wolves can't get in the game'published at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Wolves

    Alex Scott
Ex-Arsenal Ladies & England international on BBC Final Score

Tottenham are applying so much pressure that Wolves can't really get any spell of possession.

They’re sitting back and waiting to hit Spurs on the counterattack, but they can’t really get in the game at the moment.

  5. ADDED TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Wolves

A slap of the thigh from Harry Winks. He has a go from distance but gets it wrong. The shot is scuffed wide.

There'll be two minutes of added time at the end of this first half.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 44 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Wolves

But now a second Spurs player gets a yellow card. Again it's the pace of Adama Traore that causes the trouble. The winger sprints away from Dele Alli and before he can get into too dangerous a position Christian Eriksen chops him down.

  7. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Wolves

Spurs look very calm playing it out from the back today. Even with Wolves pressing high they are working the ball around the gold shirts to start another attack.

  8. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Wolves

Wolves boss Nuno is standing with his arms folded in his technical area. There's not much more his side could have done in this half. They have actually played pretty well and have restricted Spurs largely to long-range shots.

Trouble is one of those efforts flew in.

  9. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Wolves

The game has just quietened down a little and so has the crowd. Dele Alli drops deep to collect the ball from his defence but fails to create anything.

    Tottenham 1-0 Wolves

Harsh? My initial view was that Kane's strike was so well hit that Patrício was always struggling.

Wolves do still look a threat in this game, despite Spurs dominating possession. Ruben Neves shoots wide this time.

  11. 'Goalkeeper has to do better'published at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Wolves

    Paul Ince
Former England midfielder on Final Score

It’s a fantastic strike from Kane but the goalkeeper has to do better.

It’s not right in the corner of the goal and he’s got his hands to it. He should save it.

Oletum: If Harry Kane was Brazilian. That’s all I’ll say.

Paul: I honestly did not know that Harry Kane had a left foot - what an absolute belter!

Tattz: Never mind an MBE, that strike was worthy of a knighthood, sainthood and a coronation all in one. What a player Harry Kane is.

Almost a second. Son Heung-min tries to prove he can curl them in from range with his left too but his effort is just a little too high.

He's everywhere at the moment is Son. A minute later he almost gets on the end of a sensational through ball from Eriksen.

    Spurs are buzzing.

  14. 'Brilliant strike from Kane'published at 15:29 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2018

    Tottenham 1-0 Wolves

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

When I saw Harry Kane chop onto his left foot, I thought he would cross it. He has another touch and there's no difference between his left and right foot with how clean he hits it. The power takes it into the far corner.

Absolutely brilliant strike from Harry Kane.

Wolves have responded well to going behind. They force two corners, both of which come to nothing. Can Nuno's side fight their way back into this?

That goal came from Kane's supposedly weaker foot. You couldn't tell.

    Harry Kane

That's what you get an MBE for! A rocket from Tottenham's Harry Kane. He picks the ball up 25 yards out, turns on the spot and unleashes a bullet of a left-foot strike into the far side of the net.

The keeper had no chance. Spurs are flying right now.
