They need someone to dictate play. They are getting up against the Manchester City players, but doing nothing when they have the ball.

City look more composed on the ball, more relaxed. Liverpool are giving it away so cheaply.

It's taken eight minutes to see Liverpool put four or five passes together. That was the first real attack from Liverpool, but Manchester City stood off them.

Liverpool play out from the back for the first real time and there's real threat as they open City up, space on the right. Trent Alexander-Arnold whips the cross in, Roberto Firmino tries to flick it on and it actually comes off a City defender and pops into the arms of Ederson.

It's intense stuff, alright. High tempo, plenty of errors from both sides.

City first to every second ball at the moment, Raheem Sterling is caught late, play goes on and Fernandinho then runs into Andrew Robertson after the Scotland man clears his lines.

Clumsy rather than malicious I feel. A stoppage, anyway, as Jurgen Klopp calls James Milner over for a tete-a-tete.

Manchester City have set their stall out with a high tempo, pressing - they are not going to let Liverpool settle.

Liverpool are top of the league and you can see they are very nervous. They have given the ball away so cheaply.

Liverpool are being given zero time on the ball, City pressing high up the park. Alisson is unruffled though, happy to play the ball to Dejan Lovren under pressure. James Milner then kicks it straight out.

That's a couple of mistakes from Liverpool. City have come out the blocks and it's a great atmosphere - the best atmosphere I have heard at Man City.
