    Everton 0-0 Bournemouth

Win, lose or draw Bournemouth are rarely boring to watch from a neutral's point of view and they are at it again. They are on top now as Jefferson Lerma shoots well wide from range.

At the other end Ademola Lookman has a shot charged down. Crowd getting a bit restless...

Bournemouth certainly haven't come here to sit and defend. They worked it really well up the right and Clyne whipped a dangerous ball in.

Josh King tries to control it rather than getting his shot away first time and it gave Michael Keane an opportunity to get close enough.

  3. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 10 mins

    Everton 0-0 Bournemouth

David Brooks has impressed yet again in these early stages for Bournemouth and he's fouled on the right wing. Ryan Fraser puts in a cross and it's well cleared, Brooks then does brilliantly to get between two Everton men and he goes down. Penalty?!

Referee Anthony Taylor says no. Idrissa Gueye looks sheepish.

  4. CLOSE!published at 8 mins

    Everton 0-0 Bournemouth

Gareth Southgate is in the stands for this one. If he's come to check out Callum Wilson he'll be disappointed.

Surprised he's not at Wembley today.

And there's the first chance of the day for Bournemouth! Nathaniel Clyne puts in a fine cross from the right, Joshua King can't get on the end of it and Ryan Fraser then finds King in the middle. He can't get a clean shot away

Would Wilson have done better there?

    Everton 0-0 Bournemouth

Ademola Lookman has a point to prove and he's been on the ball a lot already. Can he secure a first-team place or will he be on his way? He's been linked with Southampton and another spell in Germany too.

    Everton 0-0 Bournemouth

Gylfi Sigurdsson's set-piece delivery remains as sharp as ever and a free-kick from wide on the right ricochets around the penalty area but Bournemouth clear.

The games where Everton are winning and performing, it's pleasing on the eye. That wasn't the case last season. Even when they were winning it was a poor watch. It really was. So Everton have progresed that way.

But I do think it's a big job Marco Silva's got here. It's a big job off the field as well, so no-one can come and bring success overnight.

What Marco Silva's doing is a gradual thing, it will take time, and there will be some poor days. The performance in their last home game against Leicester was turgid, but there is a feeling of optimism in the background.

Today's a massive game - for both clubs - because it may define their season, whether they'll be looking up (the table) or down for the rest of the season.

Ademola Lookman has started wide on the right for the hosts and he links up well with captain Seamus Coleman, the move breaks down though and Bournemouth can clear.

Very bright start from the Cherries as Ryan Fraser sprints down the left and cuts it back for Junior Stanislas, he's about to get a shot away from about 16 yards but Bernard of all people tracked back and got a foot in. Well played!

There is a sleepy Sunday feel around Goodison this afternoon. The Everton fans are drifting into the ground. I am sure they will make some noise as the game goes on, but this could be one of those games where the players have to spark the fans.

Romelu Lukaku scored 68 Premier League goals for Everton in four seasons but I always got the impression that he was never truly loved. Would they take him back at some point?

Tottenham v Man Utd (16:15 GMT)

I think now is a big point in Romelu Lukaku's career. Now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got Marcus Rashford through the middle and he makes runs off the ball, he makes unselfish runs, he runs into the corner when the full-backs have got the ball.

It helps the team massively and Lukaku's going to have to learn to start doing that part before he gets another run in the team.
