Maximus: Currently broken down in the French countryside listening to bbc football coverage of Arsenal v Chelsea. 12 hours of driving from the Alps to break down 2 hours short of Calais and Chelsea now go 2-0 down. Bad day.

Jamie Jennrich: Chelsea need to cut their loses this is not working, Sack Sarri and let Zola take charge until the end of the season.

Pete Brown: Anyone else notice how easily teams run at Chelsea now. Get Kante back where he belongs. how many players does Sarri want to play out of position will he move Kepa to right wing next.

A warm welcome from the Arsenal fans towards Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, who starts warming up down the side of the pitch. Giroud spent six years at Arsenal, scoring 73 goals in 180 games.

One of those days so far for Chelsea. Willian, on the right corner of the box, looks to curl it towards the far post and can only hit his shot against Marcos Alonso's back.

Chelsea 60% possession and no shots on target, where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, the last game, and the game before that, and the game before that...

Eden Hazard, rarely, is struggling to get involved in the game, having to come deeper and deeper to see the football. He then gets the ball to the right side of the area, but is instantly crowded out by two Arsenal defenders in front of him.

Chelsea missing a trick not playing Giroud who was an important part of the French WC winning side. Ignore the goals, it's about team structure and balance! Hazard simply wasted with his back to goal...

It's all very well saying Sarri should play a striker but it's not like he didn't try both Morata and Giroud. It didn't work

    Tim, London

Did not expect such a scintillating first half performance from what is an average Arsenal side. Ramsey showing what a vital cog he can be on his day. Mesut who?

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:18 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2019

    Arsenal 2-0 Chelsea

Arsenal have been superb and go into the interval with a well-deserved two-goal lead. Work, and maybe tactical changes, needed from Maurizio Sarri.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORK - Alonso (Chelsea)published at 45 mins

    Arsenal 2-0 Chelsea

Almost a way back into this one for Chelsea. Willian, who has been quiet, swings in a corner, Marcos Alonso gets his head to it, but can only watch his header rebound off the left upright.

  17. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Arsenal 2-0 Chelsea

What must Olivier Giroud be thinking? The Chelsea side are screaming out for a targetman, but he remains seated getting cold on the bench. Marcos Alonso is free on the left, ready to cross it, sees no-one available in the box and has to go backwards.

John Southworth: The Chelsea tactic seems to be get it out wide, look up and see no one is in the box, then pass backwards. Repeat x 20.

Yousuf Ali: Is it too early to table a motion of no confidence in Sarri? Chelsea's problem has been the same all season, yet he seems to have no desire to solve it.

Jack Fox: Chelsea need Higuain...and need him asap. Attrocious upfront and need a target man and hazard in the right position.

Just before that goal we saw a booking for David Luiz, who collected Aaron Ramsey with his follow-through from a sliding challenge.

    Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)

Sokratis plays a ball into a packed penalty area, Laurent Koscielny dives at it, gets the header wrong, but it bounces off his shoulder and the ball is in the net - and that's all that matters.
