    Liverpool 2-1 Crystal Palace

It is good to see Liverpool aren't standing off it. They aren't going to take it easy, they are getting to the byline and taking the game to Crystal Palace. Milner is the furthest forward player again!

    Liverpool 2-1 Crystal Palace

As I wrote that, Wilfried Zaha took the ball into the box and played in a cross from the left but there was no-one there to tap it in.

A minute of sustained pressure from Palace, that's what is needed. Hairy for Liverpool, though.

  3. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Liverpool 2-1 Crystal Palace

Palace don't have a response, it's all Liverpool. The hosts are happy to pass it about though, they can afford to be patient now.

Roy Hodgson's men need to try and up the tempo if they want an equaliser.

  4. 'Palace up against it'published at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2019

    Liverpool 2-1 Crystal Palace

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Republic of Ireland winger on Football Focus

Roberto Firmino leaves Speroni with no chance following the deflection. As soon as Liverpool got the first goal the atmosphere at Anfield becomes red hot and they're really up against it now Palace.

  5. 'Pressure turning to goals'published at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2019

    Liverpool 2-1 Crystal Palace

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Liverpool have put a massive amount of pressure on since the start of the second half. The corner was played quickly with bodies out of position. Firmino's shot takes a deflection as well, touches the legs of Kouyate to take it away from Speroni. Now, the pressure is now turning to goals.

    Roberto Firmino

Eight minutes to turn this game around. That's all it has taken.

James Milner's cross is headed out by James Tomkins, but Naby Keita picks it up and finds Firmino. He puts it onto his right foot and buries it past Julian Speroni.

It looks like it took a big deflection pff Cheikhou Kouyate though.

  7. 'Palace architects of own downfall'published at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2019

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Republic of Ireland winger on Final Score

Crystal Palace are the architects of their own downfall.

There's a poor clearance, they surrender the ball to Liverpool and they don't know whether they're holding the line or not. Mo Salah puts it beyond Speroni, who should probably do better himself.

  8. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

Whatever Jurgen Klopp said to his team at half-time, it's worked.

Andy Robertson steamrolls towards the box, unleashes a powerful drive across goal but it just goes wide of Speroni's left-hand post. Not sure the goalkeeper saw that one coming.

All of sudden, Anfield is LOUD. That's certainly lifted spirits.

    Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 live

They've got a lot of luck involved in that but great to see van Dijk coming in from distance. It was a massive deflection and Salah's little flick was just enough. They probably had 10 minutes to make a difference before some changes, and it has taken the one.

  11. goal

GOAL - Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palacepublished at 47 mins

    Mohamed Salah

That's quite the start to the second half.

Virgil van Dijk goes for goal from outside the area, it deflects off James McArthur and finds Mohamed Salah right in front of Julian Speroni.

Offside? No. He pokes it in. Game on.

  13. 'It's pathetic!'published at 16:02 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2019

    Liverpool 0-1 Crystal Palace

Garth - and a lot of you out there - are not happy after Mo Salah went down in the area during that first half.

    No penalty was given...

    HT: Liverpool 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 live

Liverpool are playing well, moving the ball well, but the final ball hasn't been brilliant and they haven't looked as fluent going forward. The movement from the four up front isn't right. I think Klopp will be tempted to bring Shaqiri on, he sprinted up the touchline at the end there, I expect he has plenty to say.

Time for a half-time tip of the hat to Crystal Palace.

In case you haven't seen the news yet, the club has offered part of its Selhurst Park stadium as an emergency shelter for rough sleepers.

Up to 10 homeless people will be provided with a bed and will be given a hot meal, breakfast and washing facilities.

I think Jurgen Klopp will make a change at half-time. The idea of playing Naby Keita on the left of attack hasn't worked here, bring Shaqiri on, Mane to the left and Salah down the right
