It could have been a lot more comfortable for Man City today. I think that will be the frustration for Pep Guardiola today. So many chances but not clinical enough in the final third. Raheem Sterling though has been electric and looks as sharp as a tack.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 87 mins

    Arsenal 0-2 Man City

    A final change for City.

The highly impressive Raheem Sterling gets a break and on comes Leroy Sane.

City's three subs today have been Sane, Kevin de Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus.

    Lolz.

Andreas, Lewes: We should at least wait until City play one of the big teams before giving them the title...

Jon Spurling: Hard to gauge a great deal from today, but I'd suggest that until Torreira starts in central midfield and we can measure how effectively he screens the back 4 from the off, it's difficult to get a handle on how Arsenal under will shape up.

    Arsenal 0-2 Man City

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

At least there seems to be a bit of optimism among the Arsenal fans today. They knew it could, probably would, be a difficult match today. They have been outclassed but credit to the supporters who have stuck with their side.

  10. CLOSE!published at 84 mins

    Arsenal 0-2 Man City

Arsenal nearly do get a goal - the only way they were going to today by being gifted it - as Ederson loses possession, but the Gunners players are too slow to react and cannot capitalise.

The Brazil goalkeeper makes up by smothering at the second attempt.

Masimba Mukurazita: It's scary how low Arsenal has fallen. Poor poor team. Can no longer compete with the top teams. Whole team seems to be below average.

Brian Haley: Season will not be defined by not beating City or Liverpool. But already Chelsea next week is an important game as they will be the measure we have to look at.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 80 mins

    Arsenal 0-2 Man City

    Another change for City.

Gabriel Jesus on for Sergio Aguero.

    10 to play.

  15. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 79 mins

    Arsenal 0-2 Man City

Arsenal have the ball in the back of the net...

    ...but it is ruled out.

Lucas Torreira plays a sublime ball over the top of the City defenders to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (think Robert Pires to Thierry Henry from yesteryear) and he finishes it by clipping a lob over the advancing Ederson.

    Aubameyang was flagged offside though.

  16. Postpublished at 77 mins

    Arsenal 0-2 Man City

It has been easy for City today.

The champions looking like they will get their campaign under way with a victory.

I don't think Lucas Torreira is a great technician but he is tenacious and loves a tackle. Arsenal need players to do the dirty side of the game and that's why they've brought him in. He's come on and is trying to add a bit of intensity.
