    Wales 3-0 Republic of Ireland

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

It's not even half-time but this is comfortably Wales' best attacking display since Euro 2016.

Ryan Giggs spoke beforehand about wanting to play an attractive brand of football, and his players have answered his call emphatically. This is thrilling stuff.

    Wales 3-0 Republic of Ireland

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio 5 live

I mentioned we haven't heard too much about Aaron Ramsey, but welcome to the game. This is all about Ethan Ampadu who just bullied Jon Walters off the ball and then he produces a brilliant ball to Ramsey, who strikes it with decent pace.

Wales might be the greatest team in the history of the Uefa Nations League.

    Aaron Ramsey

    WOW.

Ethan Ampadu - just 17 years old - wins the ball from Jon Walters on the halfway line, charges forward like Lothar Matthaus in his pomp and slides a perfect through-ball to Aaron Ramsey - who smashes the ball past Darren Randolph at his near post.

    Wales 2-0 Republic of Ireland

The Republic have their first big chance, Seamus Coleman finds Jeff Hendrick - he cuts it back to Callum Robinson, who puts the ball over from 14 yards out. That would have been a debut goal.

Wales break and Gareth Bale smashes an effort from distance which Darren Randolph can hold.

    Wales 2-0 Republic of Ireland

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio 5 live

I cannot believe what I'm seeing. It is like watching Brazil play. Ben Davies is able to get into those forward areas and Connor Roberts could have done better with his header, but it's another free-flowing move.

    Wales 2-0 Republic of Ireland

Wales are playing some really good football and they have another chance to make it three. They work the ball from right to left, Ben Davies whips in a cross and for some reason right-back Connor Roberts is in the box and heads it just over. Very easy on the eye. .

    Wales 2-0 Republic of Ireland

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

Ireland just cannot cope with Wales' pace. It came from Irish possession but they win the ball and break with fluidity and speed.

Wales are confident and playing with no fear, but Aaron Ramsey has hardly touched the ball and they are 2-0 up.

    Wales 2-0 Republic of Ireland

Good defensive play by Joe Allen to win the ball near his own box and play it to David Brooks, who finds Tom Lawrence in a swift counter-attack.

The Irish defenders let Lawrence cuts inside and his shot from inside the D is parried away by Darren Randolph. That could have been 3-0...

Another chance for Wales, Gareth Bale crosses, Tom Lawrence lays if off to David Brooks, who takes a touch but then lashes a shot high and wide. Wales' front three seem to be doing a good bit of interchanging.

The real embarrassment is the fact Wales are the only team taking the League of Nations seriously. Chill out guys.

    Wales 2-0 Republic of Ireland

    Danny Gabbidon

Wales commit a lot of bodies forward and they almost got caught out on the counter attack, but Ashley Williams made an important interception.

  14. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Wales 2-0 Republic of Ireland

Jeff Hendrick's free-kick is headed out by Ashley Williams for a corner - but eventually Shane Duffy is offside and Wales have a free-kick.

  15. Postpublished at 27 mins

Ashley Williams concedes a free-kick for fouling Jon Walters - I wonder if the Irish can create a chance here.

    Wales 2-0 Republic of Ireland

    Kevin Ratcliffe
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Wales

Roy Keane is scowling on the touchline, but in fairness, have you ever seen him smile? I think he gets up in the morning and smiles at the mirror, just to get it over and done with for the day.

  17. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Wales 2-0 Republic of Ireland

Wales have so much more purpose when they come forward, Gareth Bale almost creates a shooting opportunity but the visitors get it away.

The Republic have the game's first corner but Wayne Hennessy punches it clear. And then Shane Duffy concedes a free-kick as they put a follow-up cross into the mixer.
