The referee's walked away and he’s thought I’m not giving that, so he must have got something from his linesman because he’s walking the other direction and suddenly gives it. But it's a stonewell penalty

    Hibernian 1-1 Ross County

    Alasdair Lamont
BBC Sport Scotland at Easter Road

Hibs have been the better side for the most part, but they could easily be behind. County have created chances and that was the save of the game from Ross Laidlaw to keep out Iain Vigurs’ free kick. The outcome here is by no means a foregone conclusion.

    Quote Message

Hibs need to settle again, get back into their rhythm they had in the first half and not give the ball away cheaply and give Ross County any encouragement.

    Hibernian 1-1 Ross County

    John Hughes

    Quote Message

If you look at Ross County's chances, they got their goal from a set-piece and that stramash in the box was also from a set-piece and those have been their best opportunities. They'll have to match up in the second half and get hold of that midfield and force the wingers into traffic - and into trouble

  14. Concern as Rangers' Murphy faces scanpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 19 August 2018

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-3 Rangers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard admits it is not looking good for Jamie Murphy after the Scotland winger was stretchered off with a knee injury during today's 3-1 win over Kilmarnock.

"He’s very low at the moment," he told Rangers TV. "He’s down and upset because you can understand that.

"He’s concerned he’s going to be out for a long time, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed and pray and hopefully he can get some good news when he’s assessed and has a scan on it.

"But whatever happens, we’ll give him the support he needs.

"He’s a top player, he’s a big player for us and we’ll do whatever we can to get him back as quickly as we can."

  15. County close to going ahead againpublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 19 August 2018

    HT: Hibernian 1-1 Ross County

    Alasdair Lamont
BBC Sport Scotland at Easter Road

Hibs were lucky to survive just before the break. Ross Laidlaw didn’t deal with the free kick that was swung in to the six-yard box and Callum Morris looks a little unlucky to be penalised as he tried to bundle the ball over the line. It looked from the back of the main stand as if the ball might have crossed the line, but referee Kevin Clancy awarded Hibs a free kick. Big let-off.

We are still no closer to knowing which of these sides will host Aberdeen in the League Cup quarter-finals.

Michael Gardyne's deflected shot gave the Championship side an early lead that they merited for an impressive start.

However, a much-changed Hibs started to gel and deserved their equaliser through a David Gray header with winger Daryl Horgan, their recent signing from Preston North End, particularly impressive.

County have weathered the storm and it is anyone's game.

With Neil Lennon suspended, Hibs assistant Garry Parker is watching proceedings from the edge of his technical area, motionless, but presumably much more content than he was in the opening 15 minutes. Stuart Kettlewell, the County co-manager, is far more active, prowling around the technical area, gesturing and shouting as his side have been second best since Hibs' equaliser.
