Top save from Karen Bardsley in the Man City goal as she has to push a shot from Maren Mjelde from the edge of the penalty box behind for a corner.

Wasted set piece follows up from the hosts but that's by far and away the clearest chance either side have had to open the scoring.

Chelsea try and get the right ball into the penalty area from both the left and the right but can't quite pinpoint it.

Karen Bardsley has to grab the ball from just under the crossbar from a slight miscue from Maren Mjelde.

Yeovil are looking for their first win in 35 matches, but are struggling to muster a great deal of resistance against a dominant Reading side.

The Royals' Gemma Davison sets up Brooke Chaplen to fire over, before Yeovil respond by winning their first corner in their first spell of pressure.

Back into a rather cagey stage of this match as both sides keep each other at arm's length.

Romona Bachmann does her best to try and drive through the Man City defence as she picks up the ball on halfway but Jennifer Beattie is there to dispossess her a long way out from goal.

Bachmann then tumbles into the Scotland international all very harmlessly as the ball goes out for a throw-in.

That's been a hard lesson for Liverpool to learn - nobody wants to come away from home and get a result like that.

I think at half-time Neil Redfearn will have said: "Look: we can't do anything about the result."

But he'll have emphasised that they can have a good go, and that second-half response was fantastic.

Under former Arsenal manager Pedro Martínez Losa, there was a lot of swapping and changing, but Joe Montemurro has really given confidence to this team.

He's built the team around a spine of world-class players in Vivianne Miedema, Daniëlle van de Donk and Dominic Bloodworth, and he has other world-class players at his disposal like Kim Little, Jordan Nobbs and Beth Mead.

He has given this team an identity, and a confidence they've never had before.

Nikita Parris now fancying a go on the turn for Man City.

Hedvig Lindahl is motionless as she watches that one just go wide and off the post at the back of the netting.

Decent opening that for the visitors.

A terrible, terrible league start for Neil Redfearn and plenty for Liverpool to ponder...

... But an inspired Arsenal begin with a flourish.

Beth England fancies her luck again for Chelsea and takes a quick shot from outside the box.

Karen Bardsley has to react and just parries it first above her own head to take the sting out of the left-foot drive and then holds on with ease at the second grab.

Man City's first corner is a neat training-ground move around the Chelsea area.

But after some build-up they can't quite find the killer ball to trouble Hedvig Lindahl in the hosts' goal.

    Vivianne Miedema

And there's the hat-trick for Vivianne Miedema, meeting the lay-off from the indirect free-kick to cap off the rout.

That's the first hat-tick for an Arsenal player in a WSL home game since Kelly Smith managed it in 2014.

"Both teams are cancelling each other out right now.

"There's little action around either goal, but Emma Hayes is concerned about Man City's set pieces now that they're missing their organiser in Katie Chapman at the back."

If there are any consolations for Neil Redfearn's side to take from this, it's that they've shown enough spirit and guile to convert this procession into a contest - and substitute Rinsola Babajide has looked a bundle of energy as she's looked to dig her team out of this.

Now we have a rare sight of an indirect free-kick following a Liverpool backpass...

Patient game this one now after a fairly frantic start.

Both sides settling into the match and Man City enjoying lots of possession too but without much penetration through a very organised Chelsea side.

Jordan Nobbs comes close from an acute angle, firing inches wide with a fierce effort.

She's kept Arsenal ticking over today, combining flair with vision as her movements have orchestrated many of the Gunners' trademark offensive moves.

Vivianne Miedema almost has her hat-trick, skewing one just wide from distance after coasting through the Liverpool backline.

Liverpool's second substitution sees Courtney Sweetman-Kirk replacing Niamh Charles, and Arsenal's second sees Kim Little make way for 17-year-old Ava Kuyken.

Break in play as Man City forward Nikita Parris takes a nasty knock to her head.

She challenged in the air fairly with Chelsea's Magdalena Eriksson which Nick Cushing on the touchline is less than pleased didn't lead to further punishment for the Sweden international.

Parris slowly but surely back on her feet after that knock thankfully and will continue.

Vivianne Miedema's delivery scurries into Daniëlle van de Donk's vicinity, and Jasmine Matthews must slide to the floor to avert the danger.

Seeing Liverpool players hauling themselves up after sliding into tackles has been a common theme today: they've spent so long in the last-ditch they'll soon have to pay rent there.

In all seriousness, they've looked far better this half, and have their best chance of the game when Rinsola Babajide's run unleashes Jess Clarke to buy time and cross to Niamh Charles.

She meets it, but is crowded out in the box as Arsenal clear.

Chelsea have their first real chance of note as Beth England tries to wriggle into some space on the edge of the Man City area.
