  1. Tight at the toppublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

So Linfield maintain their one point lead over Glenavon at the top of the table as both sides register home draws.

Ballymena's thumping win over Warrenpoint moves them level on points with the Lurgan Blues, an impressive start to the season for the Braidmen given that they are yet to play a home match.

On Monday, Coleraine can go level with Linfield if, and it's a big if, they can beat Crusaders.

Warrenpoint remain rooted to the bottom without a point while Dungannon are still winless after their draw with Institute.

We'll be back on Friday night with three Premiership fixtures. Until then though, enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for joining us.

  4. Happy with the luck of the draw?published at 17:38 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

Glentoran will meet Coleraine on 30 October in the third round of the League Cup and that is the most eye-catching tie perhaps.

Holders Dungannon will travel to Warrenpoint with the other all-Premiership affair taking place between Linfield and Institute.

We'll post the ties as they come out of the hat here as well. Some housekeeping before we get started:

    - All games are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 9 October. However the games involving Glentoran and Linfield will be held on 30 October, owing to the fact that the two sides meet each other in the league on 8 October.

    - The second round match between Portstewart and Harland & Wolff Welders will go ahead on Wednesday 12 September.

  9. What they saidpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Glenavon 1-1 Glentoran

We played quite well today. When we look at this game I think we will say we did enough to win the game but the goal we conceded was sloppy. Things are looking quite positive but we are not getting carried away.

    Glenavon 1-1 Glentoran

Honours even at Mourneview Park...a share of the spoils probably a fair result on the whole although both managers may think otherwise as their sides passed up a number of opportunities.

  15. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Warrenpoint Town 1-6 Ballymena Utd

It's another good day on the road for Ballymena - still playing all their matches away from home while remedial work is carried out on the Showgrounds pitch - as they thrash basement side Warrenpoint.

  16. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Linfield 0-0 Ards

Two points lost for Linfield, but a point earned for Ards who held their nerve right until the final whistle.

A really good defensive display from Colin Nixon's men. The boss will no doubt be proud with what he has seen from his side today.

  17. Linfield's turn to go forwardpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Linfield 0-0 Ards

Chances coming thick and fast in a frantic finish at Windsor Park.

Jimmy Callacher is up from the back but heads Andy Mitchell's cross over the bar.

  18. Ards go close againpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Linfield 0-0 Ards

Now it's Linfield who are holding on.

Eamon McAllister runs along the byline and his effort is deflected narrowly wide.

  19. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Institute 0-0 Dungannon Swifts

It finishes all square at the Brandywell.

It means Institute's unbeaten home run continues, as does Dungannon's search for a first league victory of the season.

Both sides created chances in the second-half, but the game had a 'nil-nil' feel about it for long spells.

  20. Big chance goes begging for Ardspublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Linfield 0-0 Ards

My goodness. Ards have very nearly nicked it.

Michael McLellan produces a textbook Cruyff turn in the box and fires a cross to the back post where Kyle Cherry is all alone but heads over.

That would have been the mother of all smash and grabs.
