  1. CLOSE!published at 15 mins

    Albania Women 0-1 Scotland Women

Lizzie Arnot beats her marker and fires in a cracking cross level with the six-yard line. It flies inches over the head of Jane Ross, who was unmarked.

  2. Little shows class againpublished at 13 mins

    Albania Women 0-1 Scotland Women

Lovely stuff again from Kim Little, who picks up a loose clearance on the edge of the Albania box and shimmies, dummies and jinks her way towards goal, leaving two defenders in her wake.

Her eventual shot is blocked for a corner, which the home side get clear.

Even when Albania are winning the ball back, they're not managing to string more than two passes together before giving it back.

It was important we didn't allow Albania to grow in confidence and we are getting a lot of the ball wide. What can we do with it? Can we pick out a pass rather than just aimlessly putting it into the box?

  4. Little 'takes game by the scruff'published at 16:15 British Summer Time 4 September 2018

    Albania Women 0-1 Scotland Women

    Lee McCulloch
    Former Rangers midfielder on Sportsound

Little has been getting on the ball, trying to grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Great technique and composure with the volley.

  5. goal

    Kim Little

What a brilliant goal from Scotland!

Nice interplay in midfield, before the ball is floated to the back post. Lizzie Arnot, instead of going for goal herself, cushions a header back across the face, and the onrushing Kim Little rifles it home on the volley.

    Smashing technique.

  6. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Albania Women 0-0 Scotland Women

Our pundits are putting it diplomatically - the surface at the Loro Borici Stadium looks like someone has driven a tractor across it. The ball is bobbling around and it's causing the Scots some issues with their passing.

  7. CLOSE!published at 6 mins

    Albania Women 0-0 Scotland Women

The towering figure of Jennifer Beattie rises to meet a free-kick inside the Albania box. Her header bounces awkwardly towards goal, and it's well-saved by Viona Rexhepi. The big defender had been flagged offside in any event.

You can tell the ball's just holding up on the surface, it's not easy for Scotland to play their normal passing game.

  9. Evans off and runningpublished at 3 mins

    Albania Women 0-0 Scotland Women

An early glimpse of what Lisa Evans is all about, as the Scotland winger scampers off down the left, desperate to get in behind the Albania defence. The offside flag halts her progress this time.

It doesn't look like a great surface and it looks rather hot. Shelley will be looking for Scotland to use the ball very effectively and win it back as quickly as possible to save them chasing. It can be very, very tiring.

  13. Scots will play fast - Kerrpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 4 September 2018

Albania Women v Scotland Women (16:00)

Scotland Women head coach Shelley Kerr on BBC Radio Scotland: "Our game plan today will be to try and pull them out of position because we know they're going to sit behind the ball.

"We don't want to get caught up slowing the game down.

"Everyone's expecting us to win this game quite comfortably. There is no easy team. They have always got players that can hurt you. The big focus should be on what we do tonight and if we can do the job well, then we should be OK.

"Lizzie Arnot gives us a different dimension in the wide area - she' got two very good feet, she can be a creator and Albania won't know much about her.

"Jane Ross has been a prolific goalscorer for the national team and she'll play up top with Erin Cuthbert."

  14. Scotland 'will go for it' - Fleetingpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 4 September 2018

Albania women v Scotland women (16:00)

Former Scotland captain Julie Fleeting, who scored 116 goals in her 121 internationals, will be part of BBC Radio Scotland's coverage today.

Speaking on Good Morning Scotland earlier, she believes last week's win over Switzerland bodes well for Scotland's prospects - whether they qualify automatically or end up in the play-offs.

"I think they will go for it," she said. "They will be confident they have the ability to get more than one goal against Albania - they didn't cause us many problems in the previous game.

"I think Shelley will set up a pretty attacking team and try to get early goals to take the pressure off the rest of the game. First and foremost they need to beat Albania to make sure that if Poland were to do Scotland a favour, we haven't slipped up.

"Switzerland are a very strong side with some class players but in last week's game, Scotland were excellent. We really showed the quality we have in our side both defending and attacking.

"That will have done a world of good for the Scotland players in terms of their confidence, even if they go forward to the play-offs, where they will face top opposition of a similar standard to Switzerland. So it will stand them in really good stead for those games."

  18. 'We need to do our end of the bargain'published at 15:50 British Summer Time 4 September 2018

Albania Women v Scotland Women (16:00)

Scotland Women forward Lisa Evans talking to BBC Scotland: "We outplayed the Swiss in every aspect of the game and we’re really happy that we beat a top, top side with quality players.

"We can take a lot of confidence from that performance going into the Albania game.

"Like Shelley says we want to play this attractive, possession based football and we hope that’s reflected in the results we’ve had in recent games.

"We need to do our end of the bargain and get those points. We’ve come up against Albania before and they’re a stuffy, defence-minded team, so it’s working on how we break that down and create goal-scoring opportunities."
