Tottenham 0-0 Watford
Slow going in MK but that's a dangerous ball whipped in by Serge Aurier, cleared away well though.
FT: Liverpool 1-2 Chelsea - stunning Hazard winner
FT: Tottenham 2-2 Watford - Spurs through 4-2 on penalties
Gazzaniga with two penalty saves for Spurs

Tottenham 0-0 Watford

Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Chelsea still on top, they look slick and secure. Liverpool haven't really got going at all yet. Victor Moses runs the ball well and finds Willian but the attack breaks down.

BBC Radio 5 live reporter at Anfield
There is a great crowd inside Anfield tonight including thousands of Chelsea fans in the lower tier of the Anfield Road end.
The Liverpool supporters are taunting their rivals by chanting the "Luis Garcia song."
You may remember the little Spaniard scored the crucial goal in the 2005 Champions League semi-final second leg at Anfield. Jose Mourinho Christened it "the ghost goal".
Arsenal 1-0 Brentford
Alex Iwobi dances into the penalty area and is caught, he stays on his feet and no penalty is given. Should VAR have come into play there?
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

Liverpool are trying to hold a high line, they are four yards out from the edge of the box and that is easy to pierce for Chelsea.
Ben Osborn (19 mins)
It's so scruffy! Dear oh dear. A loose ball ricochets into the penalty area, Stoke keeper Adam Federici is hesitant and ends up clearing the ball against Ben Osborn and in.
He didn't know a lot about that.
West Ham 0-0 Macclesfield
The Silkmen go close! A good old fashioned League Two long throw opens up West Ham and Harry Smith sees his bundled effort saved by Adrian.
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
How has that stayed out? Cesc Fabregas plays a dink over the top, Alvaro Morata holds off a defender and tries to chip Simon Mignolet.
The Belgian swats it out, Morata gets to the loose ball and shoots from an acute angle and it scurries right across the goal line and away...

Cesc Fabregas is keeping Chelsea ticking along nicely. That's what you have to do, keep the ball to stem the Liverpool tide, don't give it away cheaply.

BBC Radio 5 live football reporter at Stadium:MK
We’ve had the Tottenham goals montage on the big screen, the rousing “to dare is to do” war cry, there’s more Spurs fans than we expected, apparently 22,000, with another 4,000 from Watford. Still a bit strange though.
It’s also a special night for Dele Alli, the prodigal son has been made captain on his return to MK Dons.
Tottenham 0-0 Watford
Under way in Milton Keynes.
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Stoke
Lovely! Peter Crouch backheel to Bojan and in but again the offside flag denies Stoke. Stoke have made 10 changes and have those two up front. That's some squad for the second division...
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Better from Liverpool after a snoozy opening 10 minutes, Sadio Mane is alive as ever and nearly nicks the ball from Gary Cahill but the (former?) England man recovers.
West Ham 0-0 Macclesfield
An early blow for the Hammers - Carlos Sanchez has picked up an injury and Declan Rice has to come on in his place.
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Stoke
Podcaster and sometime footballer Peter Crouch has a sniff of goal for Stoke but the offside flag is raised.
Arsenal 1-0 Brentford
I saw Emile Smith Rowe score a beauty in pre-season and the Arsenal youngster has gone close now - running clear down the left channel and putting a shot into the side-netting. Brentford yet to get going.
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Chelsea have a free-kick in a decent area but Willian can only clip it high into the Kop.

This is an important competition now for Liverpool, they NEED a trophy, they are good enough.

David Thackeray: Changes maybe, but the depth of strength in LIV/CHE line-ups is frightening. I'd back either to finish top 6 in EPL.
Danny Welbeck (5 mins)
Our first goal of the night and it's a fine header, a cross from the left finds England man Danny Welbeck in space and he plants a powerful header into the far corner. You don't save those!
