    Boooooo to you Cesar.

Former Chelsea captain John Terry on Sky Sports: "It will be interesting to see if Kepa plays the next game. If I was in the dressing room I would expect the manager to come in and deal with it straight away."

Aditya: Kepa's antics will eclipse the real story of the day: Eden Hazard is just miles ahead of everyone in this Chelsea team. It'll break my heart to see him go but by god I hope he wins a Ballon d'Or.

Rory: Kepa has completely ruined that performance. Without the incident, that performance would have completely boosted the morale at the club. That's been knocked back down to where it was a fortnight ago. Absolutely ignominious.

    Man City win League Cup

    Manchester City

Victorious Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports: "Of course I'm happy. Compliments to Chelsea, they played an incredible performance. I'm happy to win back to back in this competition for the first time in the club's history.

"The important thing when it comes to penalties is personality and we did it."

Happy that City found another way to win, despite being at their fluent best? "We played incredible players, Chelsea have incredible quality and after the result two weeks ago we knew it would be more difficult. It was a final.

"Being in so many competitions is demanding and tough and we have players injured."

Can he build a dynasty at City like he did at Barcelona? "I'm not going to compare. What we did in Barcelona is unique. This is new players, new club, now we will see how far we can go."

    It's mutiny at Chelsea.

How do we see this situation panning out? Kepa has to go or Sarri has to go and I suspect Sarri will walk.

He's been undermined - it's the worst thing that can happen to a manager.

It is completely unacceptable for the Chelsea keeper to refuse his manager's instructions in any situation let alone in the most public and important arena! Inexcusable! However I'll be shocked if Sarri isn't dismissed in the next day or so and that little or no action is taken against Kepa. Right or wrong, that's what I think will unfold.

    Richard

If I was Sarri, I'd walk right now. Lack of respect from the players. He shouldn't have to take this from the players, I'd resign right now with whatever dignity he has left. Disgraceful from Kepa.

    Manchester City

City captain Vincent Kompany on Sky Sports: "It is a difficult trophy to win, everyone is involved from the young guys at the start to now. Everyone is involved.

"I am always ready to play, I haven't trained much but I am so happy to achieve these things with this wondeful club.

"I know how good Willy Caballero is on penalties, last time we won it he won it for us so I didn't want him to come on! It didn't happen in the end.

"Of course I have never seen it, I wish I could do it whenever I get subbed."

Many will no doubt want Chelsea to come down hard on such insubordination...but don’t be surprised if the one who pays the price will be the manager, rather than the world’s most expensive goalkeeper

Elliott: Kepa's disrespect marred an otherwise respectable Chelsea performance, which'll now reflect badly on Sarri despite a good game tactically.

Emikomi: Such a good match marred by bad sporting attitude from Kepa. And just like that Chelsea's real problem is revealed, the players control the club.

I still cannot believe what i have just seen. How can Kepa play for Chelsea again? How can he play for Sarri again? Something has to give. He has to go.

I feel for Sarri today, he was under pressure anyway. How's he going to get through this?

I've got a lot of sympathy for Sarri. This group of players have acted against the past 3 managers also. Kepa is not the first and won't be the last. Saying that, Sarri should have stood firm and not backed down.

Chelsea hierarchy must now support their manager in whatever decision he makes over their keeper. His refusal to come off must be punished st the highest level. If the manager walks then good on him.

I was so happy to see a different Chelsea today, and to see Maurizio Sarri move away from just playing the same way.

To see the manager come up with something new to try and win a trophy, I was pleased with that, it was a much better display from Chelsea.

Kepa should never play for Chelsea again. that should be his last performance in a Chelsea shirt. He's a disgrace. I've never seen anything like it.

if I was Sarri I would walk. You cannot be undermined. Why weren't the players dragging Kepa off anyway?

Kepa should be sacked, not Sarri.

Will: It doesn’t matter whether Kepa could continue or not, the manager made a decision to take him off and that should be the end of that. You can’t refuse to work for your boss in any other line of work, why should football be any different?

Rob: Chelsea is broken from top to bottom. Player power has dominated that club for years. If Sarri leaves I would respect him so much.

James: Player power over everyone else at a club has been building slowly for the past few years. This is a pivotal moment for the way football clubs are run.

Sarri looked sad after he calmed down a touch. He didn't know what to do.

The fans, as he walked up the steps on his own, all shook his hand all the way up. I don't think anyone could believe what they have seen.

  20. 'A special feeling'published at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2019

    Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, speaking to Sky Sports:

"It feels great to be honest, I think to win the trophy back to back is always more difficult than winning it the first time.

"Chelsea played well and made it tough for us. It was such an open game.

"We knew that after the result a couple of weeks ago this match would be tougher and more difficult to play against them. They wanted revenge.

"We are just pleased to be able to win it again. It is a special feeling."

Can City go on to win the quadruple? "We had same conversation a year ago and we just try to win as many as possible."
