In response to the Sturridge away goals drought stat; he managed to bag a few in the Europa League though so I wouldn't write him off just yet!

There can be no complaints because it was a corner kick and the referee got it right. It's a good ball in but Alisson is static on his line and he puts no pressure on the ball. Until that moment, Virgil van Dijk has got his head to everything but he was nowhere near it.

[Re 18 mins] That was a brilliant chance for Daniel Sturridge. At his very best, he gets that on target without thinking about it, but he blazes it over. Liverpool have to get the ball down this left hand side because they will get lots of chances from there.

Monaco 0-2 Club Brugge
It doesn't look like Thierry Henry's winless start as Monaco boss is going to end today - and if it stays that way it could be the end of his side's Champions League chances for this season.
Hans Vanaken put Club Brugge in front after 12 minutes and then scored a penalty after Antonio Barreca handled the ball.
Handball decision goes against Henry...

Red Star are looking very lively going forward. Marko Marin is a very good player and he looks up for it tonight. He looks far more comfortable playing centrally than he did out wide, where he played for Chelsea.
Red Star 0-0 Liverpool
Another Red Star corner, their third of the game, bounces round in the box. It drops to captain Vujadin Savic, who swivels and shoots over the bar.
