Kieran Trippier is still moving with the grace of Strictly-era Ann Widdecombe. He's not come off yet though, as Lucas has a volley hooked well wide, off balance.

Good from Dele Alli again, driving at the Ajax defence, they look vulnerable to direct pace. He finds Son, whose cross is well cut out. Lucas Moura was through the middle on that occasion. Really fluid front three.

That was really good by Spurs. Firstly, it's a really incisive ball by Dele Alli between the two centre-halves, but Son-Heung Min just cannot get the ball out of his feet.

And then you expect Christian Eriksen to score from there. How may times have we seen the net bulge from there over the years?

Spurs have had more shots on target already than they managed at home last week. It's a stupid thing to say but I'll go with it - if they hadn't conceded they would be pleased with this opening 25 minutes.

There is that cutting edge! Really good attack from Spurs as Dele Alli, off to the left at the moment, finds Son through the middle. Great pass, and Son stabs at Andre Onana. Saved!

Seconds later Lucas Moura beats a man and finds Christian Eriksen, his shot is saved too. Two good chances for the visitors...

Plenty of heart from Tottenham though and again it's Moussa Sissoko who is doing much of the heavy lifting. He was practically a joke figure not so long ago. Outstanding of late.

He beats two men with a central surge, offloads to Son whose shot is charged down. It goes without saying but a Harry Kane-less Spurs do lack a cutting edge.

Spurs counter, looks dangerous but quick as a flash Ajax win it back, and then pick their way through the green press with two or three incisive passes. It's fine football from the hosts, it really is.

Spurs cannot let Frenkie de Jong dictate the play. He is in Dele Alli's area and the Englishman has to get after him.

Everything goes through him. He is an artist and he glides through the game.

Tottenham have 70 minutes to score twice. Doable?

Of course. But their away form is more relegation than Champions League at the moment. They need to dig deep here and really find a performance. At the moment Ajax are dictating the play all too easily.

Pochettino said before the game that Spurs could 'win the game in the first minute, or the last minute.' They may have lost it in the fifth minute.

Plenty of time to turn this around, of course, but Ajax are now putting on a clinic of possession rotation out there and the crowd are loving it. Fluid, fluent.

No quarter being asked, or given as now Moussa Sissoko slides in on Nicolas Tagliafico. That's a booking, all day long.

They are a beautiful side but there's a steel lining to them. That's another bad tackle from Hakim Ziyech this time, chopping down Danny Rose. Dele Alli is playing as a central forward a lot of the time and he just gets monstered off the ball by Matthijs de Ligt.

It is clear what Spurs have to do now but they have looked a threat going forward in the early stages.

Lucas Moura runs at the heart of the Ajax defence but the move breaks down. Son is playing extreme wide left. Better off through the middle?

Where will the bidding start for Matthijs de Ligt this summer? I think it's a given that he's leaving Ajax. Looks the absolute business.
