This game is so dull that Lord Coe, a man who made a living literally running around in a circle, looks like he's close to falling asleep...

Alf: CHO wouldn’t get into the regular Chelsea starting-11 even if he scored three bicycle kicks tonight - Sarri is just incredibly naive.

Miggmaester: Best fit for Chelsea would be / have been Simeone who brings Costa with him.

Francis Edwards: Ross Barkley is truly the most disappointing footballer of all time. I don’t believe Loftus Cheek would be much better - some of these English players get overhyped. Hudson Odoi playing despite a transfer request, Chelsea is a mess.

Bit harsh on Ross that, Francis. I can think of plenty of others who have done a lot worse...

Any danger of an opener any time soon? Chelsea have Eden Hazard and Gonzalo Higuain on the bench but with a cup final only three days away they'll surely hope to not have to use them.

  5. CLOSE!published at 33 mins

Cesar Azpilicueta! No! The ball comes in from the right, Azpilicueta gets a toe on it and almost bundles in but Johan Dahlin makes a scruffy looking save at his near post.

Callum Hudson-Odoi shows why he's got the Bavarians as excited as a two-for-one on Bratwurst! First, fine footwork to get away from four men on the halfway line and then, electric pace to skip past Bhrang Safari, who is booked for chopping him down. That was superb. Just needed to be 40-odd yards higher up the park.

Just last week Diego Simeone signed a new contract to stay with Atletico Madrid and he didn't look short on passion for the club last night. Try again Bradley.

Bradley Bicknell: Dare I say it but Chelsea should try and go in for Simeone if they sack Sarri. Great manager with great experience who can win you a League and get you into a European Cup final. Why not?

Gary: I do enjoy people such as Paul at 20.12 stating Kovacic isn’t a defensive midfielder, Sarri isn’t playing him as defensive midfielder. Don’t confuse someone such as him or Jorginho being in front of the defence meaning they’re a defensive midfielder.

Kev McVeigh: Sarri insists on playing Kovacic out of position and by out of position I mean anywhere near the pitch.

Malmo doing a passable impression of Manchester City so far in their sky blue kits. Just hassling Chelsea in their own backline and they don't like it.

Jon Spurling: checked my timeline and it’s still full of moaning Arsenal fans. Didn’t we just win 3-0? Or was I watching a different game?

You know that famous clip that was used as evidence of Jose Mourinho's scathing opinion on young players? The one where Marcus Rashford missed a chance and the former Manchester United boss couldn't contain himself? Maurizio Sarri was similarly furious about Callum Hudson-Odoi's mistake which almost led to the opener there. I don't speak Italian, but it was not complimentary.

If I've learned one thing from this tie so far it's that I quite fancy taking on a Malmo game. Their fans are ace. The game itself is pretty dull if we're being honest.

    A Sarri-level disaster?

Us Arsenal fans love a good moan eh? So many forget it's Emery's first season, he could easily have been a Sarri-level disaster.

    Jack, Surrey

Arsenal fans now appear to be the most entitled in England. They don't deserve the standards of football served up for them consistently, don't actually go to the games, and wonder why the club can't lift themselves against top side. Stop moaning, start going!

There's a definite anxiety in the air at the Bridge. Would be fascinating to see the reaction if Malmo were to take the lead. As it is Ross Barkley has a dig, left-footed from 20 yards but it's an easy save for Johan Dahlin.

You can only hear the Malmo fans, who were terrific in the first leg too. Chelsea stuttering but that's good work to feed in Olivier Giroud inside the area, he gets a shot away but it's charged down.

Ross Barkley is then booked for a trip on Anders Christiansen, who scored in the first leg and is not to be confused with Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen...

  19. CLOSE!published at 14 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Malmo (2-1 Agg)

Malmo are really pressing Chelsea high up the pitch and Mateo Kovacic looks about as comfortable as a penguin in a microwave.*

Callum Hudson-Odoi then takes a bad touch on the edge of his own box, former West Brom flop Markus Rosenberg twists Toni Rudiger inside out and shoots a yard wide! Very close.

Femi: Why is Azpilicueta not rested or dropped tonight? He’s been awful of late.

Paul: Chelsea may as well play with 10 men. Kovacic is a awful footballer who does very little. He is certainly no defensive midfielder. Best thing for Chelsea would be to lose this and cup final and sarri to get the sack. Hes a joke manager who's never won a trophy.

Johnny Magrinho: Really hope Hudson-Odoi seizes this rare opportunity in the Chelsea starting line up. He’s been treated appallingly by Sarri - would love to see him get a goal or two and give his manager something to think about.
