  1. goal

GOAL - Rennes 2-1 Arsenalpublished at 65 mins

    Nacho Monreal (OG)

Thoroughly deserved! The pressure was immense, Arsenal were all over the place and eventually Rennes get the goal that puts them into the lead. A shot is wild but right-back Mehdi Zeffane keeps it in play, he puts in a testing cross, Nacho Monreal gets his body in the wrong position and it hits him on the hip, loops up and over Petr Cech and makes a home in the back of the net.

Roazhon Park is rocking once more.

    Rennes 1-1 Arsenal

A second Rennes goal is surely incoming, Arsenal are up on the ropes, covering up but taking shots all over the place. Hatem ben Arfa walks past Henrikh Mkhitaryan and cuts it across, Clement Grenier shoots and it just needs a better touch in the middle.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 62 mins

    Rennes 1-1 Arsenal

Another booking, for Granit Xhaka this time, and from the free-kick Hatem ben Arfa calls Petr Cech into action once more. Straight at him this time.

A draw is starting to look like a very good result for the Arsenal.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 59 mins

    Rennes 1-1 Arsenal

Petr Cech is doing all the old hits on his comeback to Rennes - two good saves deny Benjamin Bourigeaud and then Ismaila Sarr!

The first one is a fairly routine save but the follow-up from Sarr is brilliantly parried away by the veteran. Rennes have turned up the pressure again, as Sarr then wants a penalty after he's levered to the ground by Laurent Koscielny - no joy!

Grump Expat: Re:Andy, Brighton @ 19:02. Was your text message delayed from 2005? Surely you can't get irritated by English teams with no English players still...

Andy Kershaw: Re Dan @ 18.20 . Good shout! I have always wondered why when you touch a footballers head, his legs stop working.

  6. CLOSE!published at 56 mins

    Rennes 1-1 Arsenal

Really unlucky for the hosts! Ismaila Sarr puts on the afterburners down the right and puts in a fine low cross, it's looking like a tap-in but it deflects away off the toe of a defender and leaves Benjamin Bourigeaud kicking fresh air.

Chelsea are two points off fourth but with a game in hand. And why isn't Hudson-Odoi starting?

It's been a decent game to watch, this. Rennes have been formidable opposition, particularly since the Gunners went down to 10.

What a lot of miseries the Gunners supporters are. Blame the ref, call the opposition cheats, moan about the players..... Manager next on the list?

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 53 mins

    Rennes 1-1 Arsenal

Playing for a draw? Arsenal replace Alex Iwobi, who I think has been their best attacking player today, with Matteo Guendouzi. Strange one for my money. Although I guess it was between Iwobi or Mesut Ozil really...

  11. CLOSE!published at 50 mins

    Rennes 1-1 Arsenal

Close again, and again it's Rennes goalscorer Benjamin Bourigeaud causing the havoc. A cross is cut back from the right, he beats Laurent Koscielny all too easily to get there and shoot, but it's pretty much straight at Petr Cech.

I would be supporting Arsenal as an English club in the Champions League, but only if they had at least ONE English player. Outrageous!

    Andy, Brighton

Re Ben Arfa comments, don't see the same message from Arsenal fans when Lacazette and Aubemayang roll around holding their faces after someone blows on their ankles.

    Colin

I am so angry at the officials, two joke decisions have completely changed the game

    Rennes 1-1 Arsenal

Rennes do find space, down their right this time, full-back Mehdi Zeffane gets in to the area but leans back and absolutely smashes a cross/shot into the top tier. Composure collapse.

Goalscorer benjamin Bourigeaud then hits a cross/shot which goes wide of the target.

The home crowd remain in fine voice - can they exploit the space that will be out there in the second half?

If you're just joining us after a commute, Sokratis was sent off before half time for a second booking.

Joe: Arsenal just cannot get a break with officials, constantly terrible. Constantly poor at best

Diane: Typical Arsenal, last time Lacazette, now Sokratis, another can't play in the next leg.

Rich: These Rennes players are an embarrassment to European football, going down holding there faces in every tackle, not a good example to be setting to the young fans in attendance

Stupid from Sokratis, if you're on a yellow you don't do that, he has put huge pressure on the rest of the team now

    Fred, Devon

Utterly stupid from the walking liability that is Sokratis

    Dave, Bedford

Dirty Rennes players diving... awful ref for not knowing Rennes game plan! Come on Arsenal!!!

Chelsea v Dynamo Kiev (20:00 GMT)

    David LuizImage source, EPA

Chelsea defender David Luiz says boss Maurizio Sarri is a "great human" and that every Blues player is 100% buying into the Italian's philosophy.

Chelsea sit sixth in the Premier League, two points off a Champions League spot, with 10 games to play.

Sarri has had a mixed start to his tenure, but Luiz says they have "turned a negative moment" into a positive one.

"You don't change your character because of the situation, you change the situation," Luiz told BBC Sport.

Half-time in all the early Europa League games.

Sevilla are drawing 2-2 with Slavia Prague - with Alex Kral scoring the Czech side's second equaliser.

Zenit St Petersburg are level against Villarreal. Sardar Azmoun scored his fourth goal in as many games for his new club to level after Victor Iborra's header had given the Spanish side the lead.

Bruno Petkovic has given Dinamo Zagreb a 1-0 lead against Benfica, while Eintracht Frankfurt are holding Inter Milan to a goalless draw.
