Rezaa Sait: Emery out. Regardless of the red card, his substitutions has been horrific and his treatment of Suarez even more.

Joe Wedgewood: Auba off? Arsenal lack quality but Unai consistently drops Auba, Ozil, Laca and Ramsey. Odd. No clear plan.

Colin Hines: This Arsenal scoreline tells you the real story about where this club is. Absolutely mediocre everywhere.

All over! Excellent game, Rennes were excellent, they get an excellent win.

    Excellent stuff.

Adam Dean: Why is Monreal so far up the pitch when we have 2 minutes left and down to 10 men?

Karl: No good having everyone behind the ball, if you can't defend, no plan B Arsenal

Mark: No disrespect to Rennes, but a half decent team would brush them aside. Unfortunately, Arsenal aren't a half decent team. They'll still turn it around at home, though.

    Rennes 3-1 Arsenal

Arsenal will have work to do now in the second leg. That goal is right up there with my favourites this week. A belter.

Matthew Irwin: Just like the Arsenal player the fans aren't giving this Rennes side enough respect, remember they're only after knocking out a Betis side filled with big name

Carl: You can slate Emery all you like, but actually the damage limitation is the best thing Arsenal can do at the moment, instead of going down to a further third goal. Take it back to the Emirates a goal down; that's a good move by Emery

Javel Bleach: Oh.My.Word!!! What a goal!!

    Ismaila Sarr

    BRILLIANT goal!

Give me a powerful header on a great cross any day of the week and that is an absolute beauty! James Lea Siliki sweeps over a booming ball from the left, curling away from Petr Cech and there's Ismaila Sarr arriving at the back post to plant a diving header into the corner.

Just a dream of a ball that demanded to be put away and Sarr did the business!

Granit Xhaka is absolutely pelted as he goes over to take a corner for Arsenal, it's nothing too sinister though, just scrunched up balls of paper from the tifo the fans made before kick-off. Not sure Uefa will like that though. Into the last few minutes, Unai Emery and co hoping to slope back home with a not too damaging 2-1 defeat in their hand luggage.

Arsenal down to 10 men, but no clear change in tactics. Yesterday United changed their tactics at least twice to counter PSG. Contrast between Emery and Solskjaer is obvious. I know who I prefer.

There's shutting up shop, and then there's concreting over the whole entrance. Arsenal replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with Sead Kolasinac, leaving Aaron Ramsey as the furthest man forward.

Silvio de Fede: Remember when Arsenal (like 15 years ago, with Vieira & Co.) was a great fighting team? I miss that. This team is pitifully soft, this has been a disastrous second half till now. And Emery isn't the right manager to change that. We need someone like Antonio Conte

If Ismaila Sarr wasn't being watched by Premier League scouts already he soon will be. What an absolute menace down the right wing, giving Nacho Monreal an awful time. Just the final product that needs improving. Can Rennes get a third?

Only one goal elsewhere since the break, Gerard Moreno putting Villarreal 2-1 up at Zenit St Petersburg.

Eintracht Frankfurt manager Adi Hutter was sent off for kicking a water bottle after his side were denied a penalty against Inter Milan. Still 0-0 in Germany.

    Rennes 2-1 Arsenal

Arsenal turned a first-leg defeat around against Borisov and they may have to do it again. In fact, if they get out of here with a 2-1 defeat they should count that as a job half done.

Rennes look like scoring with every attack. Henrikh Mkhitaryan may be about to do the impossible and make Eric Bailly look like only the second worst makeshift right-back I've seen this week.

    Rennes 2-1 Arsenal

Petr Cech has to make another save from Hatem ben Arfa, really enjoying himself, as Arsenal fall to bits at the back again - it's an escape. Mesut Ozil is then replaced by Aaron Ramsey.

Ramy Bensebaini now ploughs upfield from left-back and screws a shot wide, off his toes a touch. Arsenal taking heavy damage but then they nearly score a brilliant goal of their own!Their first attack in ages, Matteo Guendouzi finds space on the left, he finds Mesut Ozil, who spins inside the area, links up with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and then gets a shot away but it's tame.
