  1. Are you Celtic in disguise?published at 20:38 British Summer Time 4 October 2018

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

Rapid fans hold their scarves aloft in the away end at Ibrox to welcome their favourites on to the pitch.

There's not been a great deal to excite either set of supporters since.

    Here's one I prepared earlier...

On the back of Celtic's Player Rater vote (more on that shortly), here's where to go to rank the players at Ibrox.

  3. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

The visitors do make that change as Christopher Dibon comes on in time to help deal with a Rangers corner.

  4. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

The visitors are carrying on with 10 men as Mateo Barac gets patched up in the visitors' dressing room, although there is a sub hurriedly getting his shin guards on.

  5. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 28 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

A nice lofted cross from Ryan Kent has goalkeeper Richard Strebinger scrambling but Alfredo Morelos is beaten to the punch by a defender in green and white, who makes a brave clearing header. There is blood everywhere as Mateo Barac has to leave the field.

  6. 'Rangers looking for top gear'published at 24 mins

    Quote Message

Rangers are struggling to be creative. They haven't found top gear against a Rapid side that are defending in numbers

  7. CLOSE!published at 22 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

A sharp collective intake of breath at Ibrox as a header from Andrija Pavlovic shaves the outside of the post.

  8. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

It's all a bit scruffy so far, with neither goalkeeper called into serious action. Rangers will want to see more from wingers Ryan Kent and Daniel Candeias.

  9. Villarreal lead in Russiapublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 4 October 2018

    Spartak Moscow 0-1 Villarreal

Elsewhere in Group H, Karl Toko Ekambi has given the Spaniards an early lead in Moscow.

  10. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

Rangers keeper Allan McGregor puffs his cheeks in relief as an awkward sliding clearance from James Tavernier skids behind for a corner. The full-back was chasing a high ball under pressure and I'm not sure he quite had his bearings.

  11. 'We didn't retain the ball well enough'published at 20:15 British Summer Time 4 October 2018

    FT: Salzburg 3-1 Celtic

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said: "I thought in the first half we started well. By the end of the half we had frustrated Salzburg.

"Second half we gave away disappointing goals, that was the frustration for us. From that they gained confidence and I'll need to analyse the game again, but my feeling was we didn't retain the ball well enough either.

"It was a disappointing result for us in the end."

  12. YELLOW CARD Berisha (Rapid)published at 10 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

Another sore one as Connor Goldson takes a whack near the halfway line after arriving a fraction late. Veton Berisha can't believe it as a booking comes his way for high feet.

  13. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 7 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

Mateo Barac is caught in a 50-50 'slide-off' with Scott Arfield, with French referee Ruddy Buquet content to let the game flow after he gets back to his feet. Since then, the niggle has grown with a number of similar flying tackles.

  14. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

The first corner of the evening goes to the visitors and, after some pushing and shoving, Rangers clear. A second corner coming up. This one is played short and Rapid Vienna make a meal of it, allowing the hosts to break.

  15. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 4 October 2018

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

Here we go. Can Rangers even up tonight's Scotland v Austria double-header?

  16. Nearly there at Ibroxpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 4 October 2018

    Rangers 0-0 Rapid Vienna

The teams are out at a packed Ibrox and the crowd are in good voice... Just a couple of minutes to go now.

  17. Rangers expect a reaction from Rapidpublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 4 October 2018

    Rangers v Rapid Vienna (20:00)

So, is Rangers boss Steven Gerrard wary of the 'new manager bounce'?

"We expect a reaction from them because they've just appointed a good manager who got his previous team to second in the league before he moved to Rapid," said Gerrard.

"In terms of tactics and how they're going to approach it, it's very difficult to judge. We've done some work on his previous team and we've obviously covered a lot of Rapid's games.

"But I'm not sure if he's taken full control or letting his assistants take some responsibility. He's only had two training sessions so the players will have to think fast on their feet and be prepared to adapt as we go.

"I'm well aware of their players individually in terms of strengths and weaknesses. I've seen Rapid at their best and worst so I don't think anything will change dramatically."

  18. Rapid waste no time in manager searchpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 4 October 2018

    Rangers v Rapid Vienna (20:00)

While Rapid Vienna sit top of Group H after a 2-0 win over Spartak Moscow, things have not been going so well domestically.

Manager Goran Djuricin was given the boot at the weekend after a third successive league loss and swiftly replaced by Dietmar Kuhbauer, the man who steered St Polten to a 2-0 victory in Vienna on Saturday.

Kuhbauer, 47, is a former Rapid midfielder who won 55 caps for Austria from 1992-2005 but is a newcomer to top flight manager, having only been at St Polten since April.

"For me, of course, it's a huge story to be at the Ibrox Stadium for my first match in charge," he said yesterday.

"However, you can not expect any miracles right now, so let us get to know our players first."

  19. Celtic drop defensive standards after intervalpublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 4 October 2018

    FT: Salzburg 3-1 Celtic

    Willie Miller

    Quote Message

Once Salzburg got that first goal, their tails were up and it was always going to be difficult. They are a quality team but, at the same time, if Celtic defended the way they did in the first half right through, they might have got something from the game. They kind of fell apart
