    Millwall 0-0 Ipswich

New Ipswich manager Paul Lambert is watching his side from the directors box at The Den.

This is a big game for caretaker Bryan Klug to be taking charge of, with Millwall four places and four points above the Tractor Boys.

Very little to report on the pitch thus far...

    Bristol City 0-0 Stoke

Stoke could really do with a result this afternoon for under-pressure boss Gary Rowett.

Tom Ince is first to threaten for the Potters, his speculative effort from range only just going wide.

Bristol City have been scoring late goals for fun lately, so no need for them to do much yet!

    Norwich 0-0 Brentford

After a difficult first season under Daniel Farke, Norwich have found their feet this campaign with a surge into the play-offs.

Today's opponents Brentford have lost their opening two matches under new boss Thomas Frank.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Wigan

A first chance comes at Bramall Lane, where Josh Windass comes inside off the wing and has a shot which is deflected wide.

  10. 'Emotional' Mowbray on his Albion returnpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 27 October 2018

West Brom v Blackburn (15:00 BST)

It's been more than nine years since Tony Mowbray made an "emotional" exit from West Brom to become Celtic manager.

This afternoon he makes his first return to The Hawthorns with his Blackburn side,

"You make your decisions and sometimes you have the benefit of hindsight. But you can't go through your life with regrets," he said.

"I liked the supporters and I liked the West Midlands people. And, after the weekend, I wish them well on their journey back to the Premier League."

    Preston v Rotherham (15:00 BST)

Preston have gone on a four-match unbeaten run to take the heat off Alex Neil, moving them up to the dizzy heights of 19th.

The Lilywhites have scored at least twice in seven of their past nine league games, with Callum Robinson scoring six goals in that time.

Rotherham will be buoyed by their first away point of the season at promotion favourites Middlesbrough in midweek, but seven matches without a win has left them below Preston on goal difference.

The clean sheet at the Riverside was a first for the Millers in 29 away Championship games, a feat they could do with repeating as they've lost all six games this season when conceding first.

All 24 teams are in action this afternoon with leaders Portsmouth travelling to fourth-placed Accrington, who have been the surprise packages this season.

Peterborough - four points off the top - go to Burton, with third-placed Sunderland hosting in-form Southend.

There's a derby at the Highbury Stadium as Joey Barton's Fleetwood against Blackpool, who start the afternoon two points above their hosts.

At the bottom Bradford will look to stop the rot at fellow strugglers Gillingham, with Plymouth away at an out-of-sorts Scunthorpe and Oxford, in 21st, hoping to celebrate their 125th birthday with a win over Shrewsbury.

  13. Adkins searches for elusive victorypublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 27 October 2018

    Bolton v Hull (15:00 BST)

    Nigel AdkinsImage source, Getty Images

Bolton started the season like a house on fire, but have since won just one of their past 10 league games.

Phil Parkinson's side have scored just twice in seven matches, which tells you where their problems lie.

Pressure continues to rise on Hull boss Nigel Adkins, with a run of seven winless games leaving them four points from safety and only above bottom side Ipswich on goal difference.

The Tigers have conceded 93rd-minute goals against Preston and Bristol City in the past week, costing them three points.

  14. Farke takes on Frankpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 27 October 2018

    Norwich v Brentford (15:00 BST)

    Jordan RhodesImage source, PA

Norwich are the Championship's form side, winning six of their past eight league games to propel themselves into the play-offs after a sticky start.

Each of their past seven victories have been by a single goal as Daniel Farke's side perfect the art of eking out points, even without injured top scorer Teemu Pukki.

Brentford's transition to a new boss has not been as smooth as they'd have liked, with Thomas Frank losing both of his matches in charge since taking over from Dean Smith.

The Bees have gone eight games without a win in all competitions, their worst run since February 2011.

  16. Big response from the Baggies?published at 14:44 British Summer Time 27 October 2018

West Brom v Blackburn (15:00 BST)

    Darren MooreImage source, Rex Features

West Brom will be looking for a big performance in front of their own fans after suffering a heavy defeat to Derby on Wednesday. The Hawthorns faithful saw their side go down 4-1 as Frank Lampard's charges ran riot.

It's not all doom and gloom though; such is the logjam at the top of the Championship, a victory could see them go top.

Blackburn's progress up the league after back-to-back wins, including a victory over high-flying Leeds, was checked in midweek when they let slip a lead to lose 3-1 to Swansea.

Rovers top scorer Bradley Dack will be seeking to pounce on any nerves in the home defence, as his side aim to move into the playoff places.

  17. Swans looking up after comebackpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 27 October 2018

    Swansea v Reading (15:00 BST)

    Graham PotterImage source, Rex Features

October hasn't been much fun for either of these two sides who have recorded just one victory each so far this month, but Swansea will come into the game the more confident after a late comeback in midweek.

Trailing 1-0 to Blackburn, a Graham Potter rocket at half-time had the desired effect as three goals in just over 20 minutes gave them their first three points since 29 September.

Under pressure boss Paul Clement's Reading are currently sat in the relegation places. Their only win in October came against fellow strugglers Millwall last weekend, but they were unable to follow it up on Tuesday when they went down 2-1 to Birmingham City.

Potter and Clement both have experience of coaching in Europe, with the former enjoying great success with Swedish side Ostersund and the latter being an assistant coach at Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

Lincoln remain three points clear despite drawing their past two and face a tricky trip to fifth-placed Colchester, who have won five of their seven home matches.

Second-placed MK Dons have won five on the bounce and visit a Mansfield side unbeaten in six, while Exeter host Forest Green and Newport, in fourth, welcome lowly Morecambe to Rodney Parade.

Bottom side Macclesfield followed up a first Football League victory in 37 attempts with a 5-0 home defeat by Northampton - the Silkmen go to a Cambridge side five points above them.

Cheltenham haven't won in seven and host Stevenage, with Notts County hoping to pile the pressure on Phil Brown, who's Swindon side are dropping like a stone.

  19. Can Stoke find some form?published at 14:38 British Summer Time 27 October 2018

Bristol City v Stoke (15:00 BST)

    Jack ButlandImage source, Rex Features

Things haven't quite gone to plan for Stoke as they look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

Just four wins from their opening 14 games has left them at the wrong end of the table and seven points outside the play-offs.

Both the Potters and today's opponents Bristol City enjoyed significant late goals in midweek - Joe Allen earning Stoke a draw at Sheffield United, and Famara Diedhiou's stoppage-time strike giving City victory over Hull.

If I was a betting man, I'd keep your money in your pocket for this one.

  20. New Ipswich boss Lambert to watch from standspublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 27 October 2018

    Millwall v Ipswich (15:00 BST)

    Paul LambertImage source, Getty Images

Millwall seem to have turned a bit of a corner in October, gaining seven points from their four games and winning their last two at The Den.

Consistency has been a problem for the Lions since their impressive eighth-placed finish in 2017-18 - they haven't won consecutive Championship matches since April.

Ipswich have this morning appointed former Norwich and Stoke boss Paul Lambert as their new manager, replacing Paul Hurst who was sacked on Thursday.

Lambert will be watching from the stands this afternoon, with head of coaching and player development Bryan Klug taking caretaker charge.
