    Shrewsbury v Scunthorpe (14:00 GMT)

Shrewsbury play their FA Cup second round tie today but the League One side were hitting the headlines on Saturday as Wrexham manager Sam Ricketts was told to stay away from his side's tie against Newport County amid speculation linking him with the vacant Shrews post.

Caretaker boss Danny Coyne will take charge against fellow League One club Scunthorpe, who booked their place in the second round with a 2-1 win over Burton Albion.

  2. Pompey looking to repeat Cup heroicspublished at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2018

    Rochdale v Portsmouth (14:00 GMT)

It's been over 10 years since Portsmouth won this competition against Cardiff at Wembley.

Since then times haven't always been easy for Pompey, having fallen all the way down to the fourth tier in 2013.

But Kenny Jackett's side seem to be on the rise, sitting at the top of League One after 19 games.

They take on fellow League One club Rochdale, who scored two goals in as many minutes to beat Gateshead 2-1 in the last round.

  3. Worst run in club history but unbeaten in 12published at 13:38 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2018

Chesterfield v Grimsby Town (14:00 GMT)

Football can be pretty confusing sometimes.

Take National League side Chesterfield who beat Billericay Town 3-1 in a first-round replay.

The Spireites have gone 19 league matches without a win - the worst run in their history - but are also 12 games unbeaten in all competitions, with two wins in the cup and 10 draws, including nine in a row in the league.

They take on League Two's Grimsby Town this afternoon and if they avoid defeat, they would be one fixture away from matching the 14-game unbeaten run they achieved whilst in League One in 2005-06.

They now face high-fliers Luton Town of League One. The Hatters beat Wycombe 2-0 last time out in the Cup.

    Barnet v Stockport (14:00 GMT)

Barnet take on Stockport ensuring there will be a non-league side in this year's third round draw.

Sixth-tier Stockport are in the second round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2009-10.

County were a regular in the Football League until their relegation from the fourth tier in 2011, although club director Steve Bellis told BBC Radio Manchester on Thursday: "In the 1970s and 80s we were applying for re-election in the Football League every year and on a couple of occasions we reckon we only got re-elected because our pies were so good."

Today the Hatters take on National League side Barnet, who defeated Bristol Rovers 2-1 in a first round replay.
