    Watford 0-0 Cardiff

Neil Warnock is looking very cold in his big hooded coat at Vicarage Road. He's not a young man, to be fair.

Watford have the first chance but Gerard Deulofeu curls an effort wide from the corner of the box.

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

Spurs hogging possession in the early stages, no breakthrough yet.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has been struggling all week with sciatica but has taken his place in the dugout. Very painful that.

However, Dyche is already barking out instructions on the touchline.

    Wolves 0-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth are almost ahead. Joshua King is in space - and onside - and has a great chance to score, but Conor Coady makes a goal-saving block before Rui Patricio can be tested.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Leicester

Early injury scare for Leicester. Harry Maguire, just back from injury after a five-week lay-off, goes down after overstretching to stop a cross into the box.

He trudges off, momentarily at least, and Leicester have a corner to defend...

  5. Postpublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2018

    Wolves 0-0 Bournemouth

Wolves are pressing super-high up the pitch (super-high being a technical term). It ends with an air-kick by Diogo Jota which probably won't even count as a shot.

Cardiff are slowly coming to terms with the Premier League. The edginess and anxiety that they suffered in the first few months has gone away. The players have got their Premier League legs and their Premier League nerves.

Will they stay up? I don’t think they will but they could scare a few people, especially at the Cardiff City Stadium.

    Tottenham v Burnley (15:00 GMT)

    Garth Crooks
BBC Sport football expert on Final Score

Are Tottenham in for a top four place? Definitely. I think they will battle it out with Chelsea and Arsenal. They are not competition with Man city and Liverpool really and I think the title will be between those teams.

If Tottenham are to compete for the title they need to put a run together that they have not done for several years. They have some very talented players but I question their ruthlessness, I question whether they are winners. This is about the mental approach, about winning, as opposed to their talent.

Wembley or Westfield? Looks like Spurs fans have opted for the latter. The whole top tier is full of fans dressed as red seats.

Michael McIntyre hasn't been put off though. Wonder if he's come to get Harry Kane's phone and prank text his mates...

    Wolves v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Alistair Mann
    MOTD commentator

It's the first top-flight meeting between these two sides but it seems sure to be the first of many.

Two straight wins for Wolves has restored self-belief after a run of just one point in six games, and they continue to exhibit a quality in their play that is ideally suited to the Premier League.

They're a completely different proposition to their predecessors of 2011-12, who were relegated with fewer victories throughout the campaign than this current side have earned in their first 16 matches.

That Bournemouth arrive similarly placed in the top half of the table owes everything to their brilliant start to the season, as five defeats in their last six matches has begun to seriously stunt their progress.

    Watford v Cardiff (15:00 GMT)

What a welcome addition Neil Warnock has been to the Premier League scene. A quip here, a moan there but smiles aplenty as his Cardiff side have risen to the challenge and defied the odds by climbing four points clear of the relegation zone.

True, they need to improve on the road and maybe this is the day?

Watford haven't won since October, which makes the decision to award Javi Gracia a new four-and-a-half year contract two weeks ago even more baffling given the owners' historical preference for short-term deals.

I'm sure Warnock would see the irony in that.

Burnley's mascot is not fazed by the weather. Short sleeves, shorts, no body-warming garments. We make 'em 'ard in the North.

Tottenham's exceptional achievement in the Nou Camp should leave no-one in any doubt they are a force to reckoned with. To recover from such a terrible start to the game - let alone the group - speaks volumes.

Imagine the feel-good factor had this game been the first in their new stadium - as was once briefly planned. Instead it's another weary trudge across north London for those supporters for whom the novelty of playing at the national stadium has not completely worn off.

Burnley's own European campaign seems an age ago. They may well want to forget that had things worked out differently against Olympiakos in August, they would have hosted AC Milan on Thursday night.

    Huddersfield v Newcastle (15:00 GMT)

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

After November revivals, December has been bleak for both clubs so far, ramping up the pressure for this one.

David Wagner desperately wants a win - and then another when Southampton visit next week - for Christmas, but the absence of Aaron Mooy could harm the Terriers' hopes.

Huddersfield don't score enough as it is. Now others MUST step up to create AND finish in the absence of their best midfielder.

Two of Newcastle's three successes this season happened without the man who is arguably theirs, but I can't help thinking that this was a game for Jonjo Shelvey to play in had he been fit.

A scrap awaits, with one goal either way to win it.

Crystal Palace v Leicester (15:00 GMT)

    Jonathan Pearce
BBC Match of the Day commentator

Palace are in free fall. They've lost eight of their last 11 games in all competitions and scored just four home league goals.

It could get a lot worse before it improves. Talisman Wilfried Zaha is banned and they traditionally struggle without him. Their most consistent defender James Tomkins is suspended too. Scott Dann is ready for a comeback after nearly 12 months out but it's a big risk to pitch him in against a side who've scored in their last nine away league games.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are just around the corner for The Eagles and unless they buy a regular scorer in January, they'll be in big trouble.

Leicester also face Manchester City and Chelsea after this game but they've been in decent form and can get something here.

Our Match of the Day commentators wouldn't be so foolish to forget their water-repelling garments. And I bet they are all wearing two pairs of socks.

They are all up in their positions on the Premier League gantries ready for the players to come out.

Let's have their final thoughts on the games...

If anyone turning up to Selhurst, the Kirklees, Wembley, Molineux and Vicarage Road has left the rain mac in the car then they are in big trouble.

    Wolves v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England midfielder on Radio 5 live

    Bournemouth do this every year.

They go on a streak of losses but it does not wobble them, it does not change their style of play and they keep going.

I don't see Wolves losing this one, I fancy them to win.
