  3. Chelsea to roar back?published at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2018

    Watford v Chelsea (19:30 GMT)

    Simon Brotherton
Commentator on BBC TV at Vicarage Road

Watford head coach Javi Gracia has happy memories of playing Chelsea at home - he'll be hopeful that Boxing Day delivers another bumper victory over the Blues.

Something tells me it's unlikely to be 4-1 again this time round though, with Maurizio Sarri's side no doubt smarting from their defeat against Leicester on Saturday.

Sarri stopped short of cancelling Christmas following the defeat against the Foxes but he made perfectly clear where his priorities lie over the next few days - and it's not the turkey.

"I am interested in the 26th, not the 25th," the Italian said in his pre-match press conference. He means business.

  9. Will Arsenal shuffle the pack?published at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2018

    Brighton v Arsenal (17:15 GMT)

    Steve Wilson
Match of the Day commentator at the Amex Stadium

Chris Hughton will be irritated that Brighton have lost their last three and picked up another red card - Lewis Dunk's dismissal at Bournemouth was their third sending off in seven games.

The cushion that Brighton enjoy between them and the bottom four might look comforting, but you can bet that Hughton will not see it that way. Consistency has been his watchword and they must not let that slip away.

It's a squad game at this time of year, as Arsenal head coach Unai Emery is discovering with defenders Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Rob Holding, Laurent Koscielny, Sead Kolasinac and Sokratis Papastathopoulos all being forced to miss games recently.

With a trip to Anfield on Saturday, the Spaniard might be tempted to shuffle his pack again.

    Tottenham v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

With an unwelcome topic for Tottenham fans dominating talk about the club recently, there's a much more agreeable subject up for debate following their demolition of Everton - and on current form Spurs surely do have to be considered title contenders.

While Mauricio Pochettino still sees Liverpool and Manchester City as "clear favourites", the festive fixtures give his side a chance to close in on at least one of them - although their demanding schedule will also make it difficult to maintain the "amazing energy" he was so delighted with on Sunday.

Eddie Howe has been tipped as a potential Pochettino successor, and with Bournemouth's much-needed win over Brighton moving the Cherries up to eighth, he says this is now a game "they can really attack".

Manchester City still hold a 34% chance of winning the league but don't write off Tottenham Hotspur just yet (13% chance with a little over half the season remaining)"
