Leicester manager Claude Puel: "A good Boxing Day! We know when you play Chelsea and City it's difficult to have the ball but you must have this mentality to defend together and try to use good recovery and fast passes to break.

"We deserved this result. We had more chances than them. We changed the system to get a better balance in the team and it is a fantastic result for this team.

"Some players are very tired. It was important to put the same team on the pitch. We didn't play well against Crystal Palace but we have had two fantastic games."

  2. 'It's perfect for Christmas'published at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2018

"We needed to start very well and after 30 minutes we were 3-0 up and it was fantastic."

On the busy Christmas for Premier League clubs: The last four years I have had five days or a week off but I prefer to play in front of the fans and the family. It’s perfect for Christmas."

Cardiff defender Sol Bamba told Sky Sports: "Everyone put a shift in, it was a great performance. This is a tough place to come and every point in the Premier League is massive so we're happy.

"Result like that (Palace beating Man City) gives you a massive boost and they were coming back home.

"We started slow but grew into the game and I think we matched them. Overall I think we deserved a point.

"The next game we'll try to get three points so we'll try to build on that and go again."

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva: "We started quite well but we weren't able to play as usual and in the end they scored an amazing goal. We are not happy but we try to overcome the situation.

"Seven points to Liverpool is starting to be a lot, we are not playing as well as we want at this part of the season. We have to find an explanation.

"We need to start winning games but we can't rely on ourselves. Even if we beat Liverpool now it won't be easy.

"We have lost two games that we shouldn't do if we are in a race for the title. There are a lot of games left and it's mathematically possible but we have to be almost perfect from now."

  7. 'We came with a gameplan'published at 17:04 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2018

    Newcastle United

Newcastle midfielder Matt Ritchie: "We came here with a gameplan and you can't concede in the first 15 minutes at Anfield so we're really disappointed.

"We know how much quality they've got in their team but you need to keep a clean sheet in the first 15 minutes to settle the team down and we didn't do that.

"I'm not sure about the penalty, it came off my shoulder but I don't know whether he was offside.

"We've got another game in two days' time so hopefully we can rectify the result today."

  8. 'Every game is a final'published at 17:02 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2018

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren: "We just focused on ourselves and it's game by game for us. Every game is a final for us. It was a tough opening first half - it's difficult to score against Newcsatle but we showed patience and quality

"We need to keep this momentum and after the next couple of games we will see where we are. Every game now matters.

"We just look at ourselves, how we perform and this is what the manager wants from us. The rest will happen. It's a good day for us, good for the fans and let's do it again against Arsenal.

"It's not easy today to win 4-0."

Jimmy: 11 goals in two games is ominous stuff from Spurs, but can Liverpool stop winning please?

Patrick: City will not win the league with their current defence. Other teams having figured out how to play against them. Pep has to buy new players and appreciate that Fernandinho is not replaceable with our current players.
