Ole Gunnar Solskaer is very happy to accept the input of the experienced Mike Phelan as well as Michael Carrick in Manchester United's new-look management set-up.

He has demonstrated he is more than happy to let them dictate affairs from the technical area - but so far tonight it has been the Norwegian front of house doing the organising.

What a good moment for Petr Cech. He gets out and spreads himself. Paul Pogba was trying to find a route through but Cech used his experience.

    Arsenal 0-0 Man Utd

Really good play! United burst into life on the edge of the box as Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez knit together a one-two through a gap that I couldn't even see. Great pass from the Chilean, but Petr Cech is out bravely and sharply to dive at Pogba's feet and wrap it up.

A bright opening 10 minutes but no shots on goal yet. Nemanja Matic hasn't touched the ball yet. Nice work if you can get it!

    Arsenal 0-0 Man Utd

The gloves are off for Alexis Sanchez. Potentially the first sweat he's broken into in a United shirt.

It's a very good start by Arsenal. Aaron Ramsey is having a bigger influence than Paul Pogba. But it's early days.

Arsenal are getting a lot of joy down the left.

Paul: I don't get why our fans are booing Alexis. It's not like we've missed him as we are fine in attack. It's our defence that's the worry and he's been nothing short of a joke since joining United (we all knew he wanted Man City not United)

    Arsenal 0-0 Man Utd

Aaron Ramsey has been very busy at the apex of the Arsenal midfield, linking up well with the front two. Is there any chance of the Gunners sorting out a deal for him to stay?!

Victor Lindelof has to defend well to cut out a cross at the front post.

    Arsenal 0-0 Man Utd

Romelu Lukaku is playing wide right of a front three, that's the position Marcus Rashford played and scored the winner from at Wembley against Spurs. Jesse Lingard in the central role, United pressing high.

It's a nice open game. A distinct lack of parked buses.

  13. Pogba 'captain-material'?published at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2019

    Arsenal 0-0 Man Utd

    Matthew Etherington
Former West Ham winger on BBC Radio 5 live

I am not sure if he is captaincy material but he does his talking on the pitch and he has been sensational. There are others in the team for me that will get the leadership role in the changing room. I think Paul Pogba is best doing what he does on the pitch.

    Arsenal 0-0 Man Utd

Arsenal actually counter sharply from that corner, Sead Kolasinac makes up plenty of turf down the left and puts over a low cross towards Aaron Ramsey but Ashley Young is perfectly placed to sweep it clear.

Nice bright start to the game.

Both teams are fluid in the way they can set up. It looks like Lingard is playing through the middle. Ramsey could have a similar role for Arsenal.

GOAL - Bristol City 1-1 Boltonpublished at 19:55 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2019

    Callum O'Dowda (8 mins)

A really well taken goal and a perfect response from the hosts.

Callum O'Dowda takes the ball down beautifully on the edge of the penalty area and lashes home to bring Lee Johnson's side level.

Bolton's lead lasted only a couple of minutes.

Nowhere near a full house as the teams come out - but what a chance for Arsenal manager Unai Emery and Manchester United's interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make a big statement about their direction of travel in charge of these two clubs.
