However you choose to view - pitchside bucket, tablet and smartphone combo etc - this promises to be an absolute belter of a game.

Before we get bang up to date, let's nip back in time briefly.

In the much sunnier and warmer days of August, Frank Lampard's 'Brave New World' at Derby had just had a bit of shock courtesy of the wily Bielsa.

It's not an overstatement to say the Argentine's side were bordering on awesome that evening, dishing out a bit of a footballing lesson in a 4-1 win at Pride Park.

Both sides have done OK since though.

  2. Leaving no stone unturnedpublished at 19:24 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2019

Leeds United v Derby County (19:45 GMT)

    Meticulous or morally questionable?

Frank Lampard has no doubt spygate is in the second of those categories.

Either way, you cannot deny the will to win. And as both Bielsa and Lampard said, it's not the first time...

Leeds United v Derby County (19:45 GMT)

Now Derby County manager Frank Lampard has had his say about spygate - and he's not a happy man.

"At least, on a sportsman's level, it's bad in my opinion," Lampard has told Sky Sports. "If we're going to start talking about 'culturally, I did it somewhere else' - that doesn't work for me.

"If I'm lucky enough to do well and travel to another country I'll find out what the etiquette is in that country and abide by that.

"It's disrupted our build-up to this game. People are going to say I'm trying to make an excuse - but I'm going to speak like this after the game win, lose or draw."

You don't have to be James Bond to work out that Harry Wilson is a threat.

Even Johnny English would have spotted the danger that Derby's on-loan Liverpool attacker poses.

Pacy, direct with a thunderous shot - attributes that have helped him to score eight goals in his last 13 Championship games.

He's going to be missed tonight. Jack Marriott and Tom Lawrence suddenly have a bit more responsibility.

  5. Raising the Roofe (sorry)published at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2019

If Leeds need a hero then Kemar Roofe is likely to step up the mark.

The 26-year-old striker has 13 goals in 20 Championship appearances this season.

And seven of those have been winners. And he has previous against Derby; he scored twice against the Rams in August.

Derby will have to make do without one of their star attackers as Harry Wilson is still not fit.

Andre Wisdom is selected at right-back and Scott Malone is fit enough to make the bench after a groin injury.

Derby: Carson, Wisdom, Keogh, Tomori, Lowe, Bryson, Evans, Mount, Lawrence, Marriott, Holmes.

Subs: Waghorn, Jozefzoon, Roos, Nugent, Bogle, Huddlestone, Malone.

  7. 'I didn't ask permission from Leeds'published at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2019

Leeds United v Derby County (19:45 GMT)

"Yesterday I talked to Frank Lampard and he told me I didn't respect the fair play rules," continued Bielsa.

"I have a different point of view but the important thing is what Frank Lampard and Derby County think.

"I didn't ask permission from Leeds United to do it so it's my responsibility.

"Without trying to find a justification, I've been using this kind of practice since the qualifications for the World Cup with Argentina."

Meanwhile on the pitch, the big news for Leeds is that midfielder Pablo Hernandez has overcome a thigh strain and starts.

Leeds: Peacock-Farrell, Ayling, Alioski, Cooper (c), Jansson, Forshaw, Klich, Clarke, Harrison, Hernandez, Roofe

Subs: Huffer, Davis, Halme, Shackleton, Gotts, Stevens, Roberts

Leeds United v Derby County (19:45 GMT)

"It's true there was someone from Leeds United," Marcelo Bielsa told Sky Sports. "The responsibility for this lies with me. I'm responsible.

"It doesn't matter if it's legal or illegal, or right or wrong. For me it's enough that Frank Lampard and Derby County feel it was not the right thing to do and that I didn't behave well."

I mean... it would've been rude not to, wouldn't it?

In homage to the events of the past 48 hours, we'd like you to incorporate footballers' names within spy movie titles - because, well, it just seems like the obvious thing to do.

CasinJoe Royale and The Spy Who Loved Ben Mee are probably the best - or worst, depending on your point of view - suggestions to emerge from our office so far.

Reckon you can do better? We certainly do. Send your own entries to us by using #bbcefl on Twitter and we'll include the best of them throughout the game. All being well, we may even be able to compile an XI.

To use full-on footballer pundit talk, we will be "very disappointed" if you don't give us a huge squad to choose from.

    Conor McNamara
BBC Radio 5 live commentator at Elland Road

Pablo Hernandez has been Leeds United's big injury doubt for this one. However, I have seen him out on the pitch and among the Leeds players here this evening.

Who knows what to believe, though? Ahead of this game, especially. Until we get the official teamsheets this could all be smoke and mirrors.

It's hardly a game that needs to be hyped up, but spygate is on everyone's lips here at Elland Road this evening.

  14. A bucket list of sortspublished at 18:57 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2019

Leeds United v Derby County (19:45 GMT)

The legendary Marcelo Bielsa has a slightly odd seating arrangement when it comes to watching his Leeds side. It's not exactly glamorous, but the vantage point he gets from sitting on an upturned bucket is working out well as the Argentine surveys a team playing some thrilling football.

There's bucket loads of confidence around Elland Road and the club's marketing department have been quick to latch on by selling the rubbish-collecting receptacles.

I suppose asking for one at Christmas could be considered a "bucket list" of sorts.

The wish list for Leeds fans and Derby fans remains very much the same.

    1. Get us Premier League football.

    2. See number one.

I can't see Frank Lampard sitting on a bucket though. He's too cool for buckets.

So take a seat. Pull up a... erm... bucket.

Sitting pretty at the top of the Championship they may be, but Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa is not lording it up...

Leeds United v Derby County (19:45 GMT)

Anyway, setting aside chat of interlopers, spies and bumbling undercover agents for a brief moment there is a rather important game of football taking place.

We have a mouthwatering match between Championship leaders Leeds and sixth-placed Derby to feast on.

That may well go some way to explaining what appears to be a clandestine approach to marginal gains.

There's been a bit of extra intrigue to add to an already intriguing Championship promotion contest....

Act 1, scene 1 Someone is caught acting suspiciously outside Derby's training ground on Thursday.

Act 1, scene 2 Derby County have have said the person is an employee of Leeds United's football staff.

Act 1, scene 3 The clubs are now in discussions.

Inspector Clouseau and Johnny English are not believed to be involved.

Have a gander at this story to find out all we know so far...
