Hibs manager Neil Lennon tells BBC Sportsound: "I'm disappointed, I feel we deserved something out of the game, we didn't deserve to lose the game. We lost a goal to a quality strike then the grease paint cost us an equaliser.

"It wasn't a poor performance by any manner of means, I think we tried to really force the game, especially second half.

"It's been an aspect of our play the first half of the season, our strikers haven't been firing, and that needs to be addressed - by getting better ones in.

"We're not physical enough or creative enough, tonight's a prime example. It needs to be addressed in January.

"I thought Kamberi was very good on Wednesday, but he was off the pace tonight. We'll leave it at that.

"I'm not going to call out Flo publicly, I did that before and got a reaction, he knows he wasn't at his best tonight, but he's a young player still learning the game.

"We had a really good season last year and we sold players for money. If we don't improve we'll finish in the bottom six."

Hibs manager Neil Lennon has been talking to BBC Sportsound and was typically honest in his assessment of his team's display.

Again, he's having a go at his strikers but what about the service from midfield? Surely that needs addressed.

The TV cameras at Easter Road picked up on what looked very like a Hibs supporter aiming racial abuse at Clevid Dikamona.

Quite an elderly chap too. Someone who should know better.

Hibs are now 10 points adrift of Aberdeen in fourth place after what was just their second home defeat of 2018.

They had a fantastic second half of last season and will need to emulate that to have any chance of reaching the European places again.

Hearts manager Craig Levein tells BBC Sportsound: "I'm only worried about the feeling in the group and when I left the dressing room they sounded quite happy.

"We had to show a bit of resilience, especially at the end when they threw Darren McGregor up and really bombarded us.

"We just edged it but it was another really close match.

"This is a massive match for us. It was important to go into the winter break with another three points in our pocket.

"We'll get John Souttar and Uche Ikpeza back and David Vanecek in and maybe do another bit of business to strengthen us.

"Special mention for Sean Clare. That's was his best performance for us."

No change in league position for either side, with Hearts in fifth spot after back-to-back victories.

Hibs are eighth, seven points behind their city rivals, and fans will be worried about the lack of attacking thrust and invention.

That ends a run of six unbeaten for Neil Lennon's men, who have won just twice in their past 13 league outings.

A stunning first-half strike from Olly Lee gives Hearts all three points in what is the first away Edinburgh derby success since April 2014.

Steven Whittaker was a whisker away from an equaliser, with a shot that thumped the inside of the base of the post but it was pretty comfortable other than that for the visitors, who sat in for most of the second half and said 'break us down if you can'.

Hibs are piling it on now, with a melee in the Hearts penalty area. Was that a tug on the shirt of Emerson Hyndman? He's not really claiming for it... Now the ball is with Stevie Mallan, who works the angle for a shot through a cluster of players but it's straight at Colin Doyle.

Colin Doyle gets away with one as he fumbles a dreadful high ball from Efe Ambrose. The relieved keeper is able to flop on it with Lewis Allan unaware of the spillage.

Hibs remove top scorer Florian Kamberi as the signal goes up for four minutes of stoppage time.

There's been a couple of TV replays of that fizzing Steven Whittaker shot and there's maybe a suggestion that Colin Doyle got a fingertip to it. Very hard to tell, but if so, it might have made the difference.

Hibs pump yet another ball into the Hearts penalty area and this time Paul Hanlon is able to knock it down to Oli Shaw, who manages to bundle it on target, but it's a comfortable stop for Colin Doyle on his line.

Olly Lee off, Jake Mulraney on. The Hearts goalscorer has put in a good shift. Will his great goal settle this game?

Steven Whittaker hammers in a skidding shot from 25 yards and it clips the inside of the post before spinning out and curling wide of the opposite post.

That's got the home fans on their feet.

In between all of those bookings, Hibs make another change, bringing on skipper David Gray for Vykintas Slivka. That's a full-back for a midfielder, so Steven Whittaker will probably move into a central role.
