  3. 'I'd love to play Arsenal at the Emirates'published at 19:00 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2019

    Newport 2-1 Leicester

    BBC Radio 5 live

Newport goalscorer Jamille Matt on BBC Radio 5 live: "It's a fantastic feeling.

"I wasn't at the club when the boys did so well in the cup runs but I've heard so much about it and we wanted to do it again. It's fantastic at the moment - we just want to enjoy it with the fans.

"There's no point going into the game unless you fancy yourselves. I don't think they will have played a team like us because we like to mix it up and try different things. The subs were all brilliant when they came on."

Where does this rank in your career? "This is right at the top. To score against a Premier League club is massive for me and for Newport because it's a community, family club. It's a great, great feeling - I can't lie."

Who do you want in round four? "I'm an Arsenal fan so look no further than that. I'd love to play them at the Emirates or here would be brilliant as well. But any Premier League club would be great to be honest."

Phil Foden scored his first home City goal.

  6. 'I'm over the moon'published at 18:58 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2019

    Newport 2-1 Leicester

    BBC Sport

Newport boss Michael Flynn continued: "It's huge, it's massive for the club to be in the fourth round again and to get some much-needed finances. To see the number of supporters out there and produce that for the fans is amazing.

"It actually felt comfortable, even though they're littered with quality. They had a lot of possession, we knew it'd be like that, but we worked hard on our shape. Once they scored it was about hanging on and getting a replay but thankfully the players thought differently. They got the penalty and it was put away by Padraig.

"It was a really good FA Cup game. The atmosphere the fans created, and the substitutions Leicester made as well, it showed us credit and respect. Leicester are an excellent club and have an excellent manager, so I'm delighted, I'm over the moon. It's not sunk it yet, I can feel my phone buzzing now and it's non-stop."

  7. 'One I'll never forget'published at 18:56 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2019

    Newport 2-1 Leicester

    BBC Sport

Newport boss Michael Flynn added: "It's almost Roy of the Rovers stuff, I can't believe it. It's the first time I've beaten a Premier League club as a manager so it's one I'll never forget.

"I'm actually a bit frustrated with the players. We couldn't beat Stevenage last weekend and they had 10 men for an hour. It's because I know the qualities they've got, we've just gone and beaten the Premier League champions from two years ago. It's unbelievable.

"I'll have a few drinks with the wife tonight. It's about being with the people who support you and are with you when times are bad as well, and my wife does that for me."

Peter: Superbly done, Newport, but, yet again, a mid-table Premier League club like Leicester City, with no chance of winning it or being relegated, fields an under strength XI in a competition they could win.

    FT: Newport 2-1 Leicester

  14. 'This competition was an objective for us'published at 18:44 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2019

    FT: Newport 2-1 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Claude Puel, speaking to BBC Sport: "The first thing is congratulations and well done to this team. They believed in themselves and created the upset. Of course it is a big disappointment for us. We had lots of opportunities without finding a clinical edge. We thought we did the most difficult thing to come back [with the equaliser] and then we conceded a penalty. It is difficult to accept. It was a typical cup game with the conditions.

“I think we had an experienced team to manage this game. We had eight players who won the title. We had a lot of experience and a good team on the pitch.

“It is a cup game and from the first chance they score a fantastic goal, and after that they defended well. We didn’t have enough of a clinical edge and it is a big disappointment because this competition was an objective for us."

Newport manager Michael Flynn on BBC One: "It was unbelievable, my voice has gone.

"I'm so proud of the players, they were excellent from start to finish, the amount of work they did off the ball and the chances we created as well. Let's not say that we just hung on, we created quite a few chances.

"We didn't have any beers or champagne in there so we had to make do with water. And my assistant Wayne Hatswell said that Gary Lineker owes him a pint because he keeps going on about the own goal he scored!"

Padraig Amond on BBC One: "It's a penalty so you're expected to score. I played with Danny Ward at Morecambe, he faced a few of my penalties in training so I was hoping he wouldn't remember.

"It's brilliant to score the winner but just to win is the big one. Everyone's done brilliantly today and I think we fully deserved it."
