Rowdy jeers from the home fans as an appalling free kick from Craig Moore flies high and wide. Ayr really haven't got going at all in this second half.

You've to compliment them. This wasn't happening in the first half, Talbot were sitting back for long periods then getting the odd occasion where they'd get a counter-attack. But they're putting them under a bit of pressure now and that will give them confidence.

It's all Auchinleck now as the impressive Jamie Glasgow strides forward and hammers a shot over. Replays reveal a wee bobble before he let fly. Unlucky.

What a chance for Talbot! Jamie Glasgow swings in a lovely cross and Dwayne Hyslop is there to meet it inside the six yard box but can only head it wide - and by quite a margin.

That was a golden opportunity for the men in black and gold.

Talbot are looking lively now, committing more numbers in attack.

The big men are up from the back but Stevie Wilson duffs the corner in low and the Auchinleck defenders have to turn round and jog back to where they came from.

As the game has gone on you can see Graham Wilson has got more and more confident. He was isolated for long spells but the midfield was starting to support him. Second half, they want to keep in the game but they have a lot going forward as well.

So far, it's going the way Auchinleck would've wanted it to. Ayr are dominating the ball but they've got through that. So get into the second half and Ayr will start feeling it.

Great cup tie. Both teams having go and maybe it’s the junior side who’ll be the happier of the two. Ayr United might have created more, maybe should have had a penalty, but Talbot have held their own and look confident enough to keep that up. Second half will be intriguing.

The pitch is going to cause problems. The longer Talbot can keep in it, then Ayr could slip up. I walked across it earlier and it is pretty heavy and cut up, but a good pitch for a junior team at this stage of the season.

  14. HALF-TIME Auchinleck Talbot 0-0 Ayr Unitedpublished at 45+2 mins

Plenty of endeavour but no goals. The closest we came was a disallowed effort from Talbot striker Graham Wilson, who thrashed in a powerful shot from an offside position.

Michael Moffat has knocked a couple of strikes just wide for Ayr United.

Another shot from distance from Ayr. Another easy save. This time it's Ross Docherty having a go for the visitors.

We'll get two minutes of stoppage time before the interval.

  16. Postpublished at 43 mins

The visitors up the tempo as half time approaches and Daniel Harvie makes his way forward from left-back to have a pop but the shot lacks power and presents no problem for goalie Andy Leishman.

We have a bounce ball near the home byeline as an over-keen ball boy gathers the ball before it goes out of play. He'll be getting a slagging at school for that on Monday...
