Bolton apply the pressure again, West Brom with another desperate clearance.

Pawel Olkowski had no one to aim for, but the second cross was more awkward and Kieran Gibbs gives away a throw-in.

Under the cosh at the moment, the Baggies. Even when they clear, a white shirt mops up.

    Free-kick came to nowt.

Bolton come forward again... Clayton Donaldson takes on Ahmed Hegazi, but the Egyptian slides in on the rapidly-soddening turf and splashes away a corner.

Corner comes in, only half-cleared, Craig Noone's inswinger causes a bit of concern but ends up as a goal-kick.

It's another nervy moment for the visitors. Still 1-0 though.

    Bolton 0-1 West Brom

West Brom have gone with a front three which in attack gives them plenty of options, but against a 4-5-1 of Bolton sometimes seems to leave them a bit short in midfield.

Craig Dawson concedes a free-kick for West Brom, Bolton just inside the Baggies half with the free-kick.

    Here it comes.

Tom Hobart: The truly awful thing about Bolton is that 10 years ago we beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 at home, and drew 1-1 with Bayern Munich in Munich. Those clubs have fared somewhat differently since. Anderson has merely worsened the rot that set in around 2011-12. He's got to go.

Ken Anderson has already stated he is doing his 'utmost' to sell the club, but it appears to have done little to ease the concerns of the Bolton fans if tonight is anything to go by.

Pawel Olkowski gets a key foot in to concede a corner. West Brom get a set-piece.

The big lads again come up, Craig Dawson and Egyptian powerhouse Ahmed Hegazi...

Hegazi gets the ball rolled to him in the box and on the swivel, smacks one high over the bar. Chance for West Brom that.

Darren Moore also has his hood up and looks pretty glum.

    Bolton 0-1 West Brom

West Brom can't really make the ball stick at the moment. Bolton are snapping it up whenever it's a 50-50.

Ball tracks the run of Clayton Donaldson, but the Wanderers striker can't quite get to it before it rolls out of play.

Darren Moore stands pondering in his technical area. His side look like they just need an injection of urgency. 1-0 is not comfortable enough.

    Bolton 0-1 West Brom

Rain teems down at the University of Bolton Stadium. That won't help the mood. Bit of a filthy night.

Cold and wet has to be up there with soggy fish and chips or warm, flat beer. Double whammy.

Here come Bolton again. Pawel Olkowski with a really good cross from the right. Flicked out for a corner.

Gary O'Neil picks up from the short corner, but his shot whistles high over the top.

  10. CLOSE!published at 46 mins

    Bolton 0-1 West Brom

Absolute peach of a strike by Jason Lowe after a corner is knocked into his path is palmed away by Sam Johnstone.

Lowe hit it on the swivel. Took some stopping. Bolton denied.

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 45 mins

    Bolton 0-1 West Brom

Here we go. Bolton launch it forward quickly and are already pressing...

Couple of throws down the left side. Picked up where they left off.

    Now they've won a corner.

The more I think about it, Bolton have been pretty decent in this game - particularly given the slightly poisonous back-drop. Fans obviously don't have an issue with the players, but it can't be easy playing in that scenario.

Gary O'Neil was a thorn in the side, Clayton Donaldson a man possessed.

    West Brom still unbreached though.

    We're about to go...

Second-tier football at 38-years-old. Fair play to Ashley.

As we've seen tonight, it can be a hard place to go about your footballing business.

Blood spilled, players limping off. It's the Championship, and boy it's tough.

Rumours had been circulating for a few days, but Ashley Cole's move to Derby was finally confirmed this afternoon.

The 38-year-old former Chelsea and Arsenal left-back had been without a club since leaving LA Galaxy in October.

Cole and Rams manager Frank Lampard spent eight years together at Stamford Bridge before both leaving the club in July 2014.

You can read Lampard's thoughts on the signing here.

We had a rather famous name return to English football today...

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2019

    Bolton 0-1 West Brom

In a game which has somewhat become secondary to the Bolton fans in their protests against chairman Ken Anderson, their players have been competitive and very much in the game against high-flying West Brom.

However, in those terms the only stat that matters is the scoreboard. Jay Rodriguez's header, right under the crossbar, has given Darren Moore's Baggies a half-time advantage.

It wasn't easy, it wasn't pretty, but they lead.

It's a cliche, but I'll say it anyway: The next goal is crucial.

Feisty finish to the first half as Bolton sling a few tasty challenges in.

Luke Murphy wins a throw deep in West Brom territory. Jay Rodriguez subsequently tumbles down by the corner flag and wins a Baggies free-kick to deny Bolton a chance.

Whistle can't be far off now.

The Bolton fans opposite have just managed to throw an 'Anderson Out' banner from the bottom tier to the top tier of the stand.

There are cheers all around the ground as they finally make it after several attempts.

A steward comes to try and take it down but the quick-witted fans dangle it over the edge to stop them in their tracks.

That's the most the home fans have had to cheer about since Gary O'Neil's early chance.

    Bolton 0-1 West Brom

West Brom have cranked things up a bit in the last few minutes. Bolton maybe feeling the pace having been ultra-competitive so far.

Jay Rodriguez's shot squirts up high over the bar and he gets a corner.

The resulting set-piece is cleared... here they come again though. Cleared.

Baggies have to recycle from deep. In the last minute of normal time. Both teams lose their cool. Mason Holgate reacts to a bit of afters from Clayton Donaldson.

    Scuffle-time.
