  1. Big result for Swans - Potterpublished at 18:25 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2019

Swansea remained six points off the play-offs as they narrowly beat Millwall at the Liberty Stadium, with boss Graham Potter pleased with the atmosphere in south Wales.

"I thought the connection was fantastic between the players and supporters," he said.

"It was a really hard-earned, hard-fought win. I think we deserved it overall.

"It's been a big week, it really has. You look at the age of the players out there, the stage of their careers, they're just starting.

"To have that responsibility, and to be the home team that has to find the answers against a team that's got good players and they can beat you on their day no problem, so from that perspective it's really pleasing."

  2. Adkins bemoans defensive slip-upspublished at 18:22 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2019

Hull boss Nigel Adkins was left to rue poor defending by his side at Pride Park as they failed to close the gap to the play-off places.

"Certainly the two goals are our own downfall, we have to win the tackle in the middle of the pitch and we knew their wide players would come in to penetrate for the sliding ball," Adkins told BBC Radio Humberside.

"We've shown them video clips and worked on it on the training ground, so it's disappointing. The second one was poor defending.

"Our defensive shape was right, we knew we wanted to play a counter-attacking game and our dynamic forwards would be to our strength, unfortunately when we did get the ball in the attacking third, the quality the players have shown wasn't there today."

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:19 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2019

    Stoke 0-1 West Brom

A few boos from the home fans as the first half ends.

It could have been more than a few boos had West Brom's Jay Rodriguez connected with a shot from the edge of the area and not scuffed it into the ground.

But 1-0 it is, thanks to Dwight Gayle's goal.

Two minutes of additional time at the end of the first half is almost up.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 45 mins

    Stoke 0-1 West Brom

A nailed-on booking for debutant West Brom midfielder Stefan Johansen, who sticks his arm out and impedes Oghenekaro Etebo.

    Stoke 0-1 West Brom

Has Gareth Barry got away with one there? Replays show the evergreen (and yellow) former England midfielder leaning into a cross that comes off his arm in the box.

Harsh to give a penalty maybe? But the officials were unsighted anyway.

  7. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Stoke 0-1 West Brom

Stoke continue to commit men forward, leaving space on the counter-attack.

If West Brom can find their passing boots then they could pick off their hosts. Dwight Gayle, in particular, is looking sharp and in the mood.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 40 mins

    Stoke 0-1 West Brom

More Stoke pressure and another corner that comes to nothing.

Dwight Gayle wins a free-kick as the Baggies break and Tom Edwards goes into the book for the foul.

West Brom are certainly looking the more composed in possession. Stoke are threatening but it's too often frantic in the final third where it really counts.

The hosts have responded well to that goal after a brief panic though.

    Stoke 0-1 West Brom

Stoke boss Nathan Jones has probably expended as much energy as anyone.

He jumps up and down as Oghenekaro Etebo sends a across out for a goal kick from a good area after a burst from midfield.

  11. Lampard toasts clinical Waghornpublished at 18:05 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2019

    FT: Derby 2-0 Hull

    Frank LampardImage source, Rex Features

Frank Lampard's Derby kept pace with the play-off places after extending their unbeaten run to three games with victory over in-form Hull, as Martyn Waghorn scored twice.

"It was a really good win against a good team. They've been beating pretty much everyone over the past two months and we knew it would be a hard game," Lampard told BBC Radio Derby.

"We got a clean sheet and two really good goals. They had decent moments but when we got the second goal it felt pretty comfortable.

"We weren't at our best in the first half partly because of Hull being a threat, but when you're clinical like Martyn Waghorn was, it helps us to get our noses ahead."

  12. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Stoke 0-1 West Brom

A Stoke corner fails to produce anything. An acrobatic but not altogether easy-on-the-eye backheel attempt by the powerful figure of Bruno Martins Indi goes over the bar.

  13. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Stoke 0-1 West Brom

That's a delightful cross in but no one can get on the end of it. Sam Vokes was busting a gut to make it but it was just in the wrong area for the striker.

Both sides look dangerous when they move it out wide.

West Brom are looking for a second. Stoke seem a bit out of sorts at the minute. They need to get their composure back - and quickly.

Boss Nathan Jones has talked of a lack of confidence and this won't help.

That is brilliantly worked and Dwight Gayle has one of the easiest goals he will score all season.

The free-kick is clipped to the far post. Ahmed Hegazi gets around the back and cushions a volley back across goal to Gayle who heads in from close range. A wonderfully worked goal.

  17. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Stoke 0-0 West Brom

Jacob Murphy blazes an effort from 20 or so yards after a good run from the centre of the pitch. No one came out to close him down until it was too late.

A decent spell by the baggies her. they now have a free-kick 40 yards out.

  18. McClaren praises Blues keeper Camppublished at 17:53 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2019

    FT: QPR 3-4 Birmingham

    Lee CampImage source, Rex Features

QPR almost came from 4-0 down to draw 4-4 at home to Birmingham, but R's boss Steve McClaren qas quick to praise Blues keeper Lee Camp, who made a string of saves before keeping out Nahki Wells' stoppage-time penalty.

"We could have had eight goals in the second half but for the goalkeeper, who made some magnificent saves," McClaren told BBC Radio London

"Not many teams I have had in much career have a chance of coming back to 4-4, and we nearly did it.

"I have been 3-0 down and come back but never 4-0. We should have done it.

"Nahki is a goalscorer and experienced. That is football and it summed up the goalkeeper’s afternoon. We are disappointed but that is the two faces of QPR."

    Stoke v West Brom

The stats are pointing towards a West Brom victory today.

The Baggies have won five of their previous six away league matches, while Stoke have managed just one win in nine games in all competitions.

The Potters have scored just three goals in their past seven league games.

It's been fairly even. But no shots on target thus far.

    Stoke 0-0 West Brom

Kieran Gibbs has had some early joy rampaging forward from left-back. Another decent cross comes to nothing but the former Arsenal man is finding plenty of space.

There's room out wide for both sides. hey just need to make use of it.
