Another busy day of Championship action is done and dusted and we get a much-needed breather before a humdinger of a derby on Monday.

The final game of the latest round of fixtures sees Nottingham Forest take on their good friends down the A52, Derby County.

They get along famously, so should be a pleasant, tippy tappy affair as the ever-calm Roy Keane and the new boss Martin O'Neill warmly welcome Frank Lampard and co to the City Ground.

    Or maybe not.

The Rams could really do with getting back to winning ways to keep their promotion hopes on track after the pretty dire home loss to Millwall. Forest are settling nicely under their new management team. Should be a cracker.

Please join our comprehensive coverage on Monday.

Thanks for being part of it today and staying patient through some technical issues. Cheerio.

  2. Benrahma 'a joy to watch'published at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

    FT: Brentford 5-1 Hull City

    Said BenrahmaImage source, Rex Features

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has heaped praise on Said Benrahma after his hat-trick against Hull City.

The Algerian forward's treble helped the Bees to a 5-1 win at Griffin Park as they won for a fifth time in six league games.

"When he plays like that, he is a joy to watch," Frank said.

"He's exciting every time he gets the ball because he can create something out of nothing. It is like magic and very few teams in this league have that.

"He is growing more and more composed and when he runs at defences he is terrifying because he can go left or right. When players mark him he'll pass the ball for another of our front three to do some damage.”

  3. 'Terrible' Millwall feel Harris' wrathpublished at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

    FT: Millwall 1-3 Preston

    Neil HarrisImage source, Rex Features

Millwall manager Neil Harris did not hold back after his side's 3-1 loss at home to in-form Preston.

The game was as good as over when Sean Maguire gave the Lilywhites a 3-0 lead after 27 minutes, although the Lions did score at home for the first time in the league this year thanks to Ben Thompson's second-half strike.

"The second goal was embarrassing. The players didn't do what they were supposed to. We were lacklustre in the first half - we didn't get out the traps," Harris said.

"The players got a reminder at half-time about what it means to play for this club. You can't give teams three-goal head-starts in this division. I'll praise them for the second half, but not the first. We were terrible.

"Preston were good today, but it was more that we were really poor. We let ourselves down.”

  4. Blades back up to secondpublished at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

FT: West Brom 0-1 Sheff Utd

That's three wins on the spin for Sheffield United and they are second on goal difference again following wins for Norwich and Leeds earlier this afternoon.

Kieran Dowell's looping header was the difference between the sides. The gap to fourth-place West Brom is now four points.

One last chance for West Brom to launch it forward...

Mason Holgate does wonderfully well to beat his man out wide and cut inside but Sheffield United have defended magnificently all over the pitch and his cross is blocked.

Meanwhile replays show Richard Stearman may have got away with sticking a leg out as Dwight Gayle wanders across him in the area.

The referee didn't see it. If he had, it may have been interesting.

  13. 'Front foot, high-pressing, football machine...'published at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2019

FT Birmingham City 2-2 Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers conceded a late equaliser at Birmingham City, extending their winless run to five matches.

Rovers manager Tony Mowbray says his team were too negative in the game's opening exchanges.

"The first 20 minutes was unacceptable. Nobody pressed the ball. Nobody was on the front foot," Mowbray told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"I want to get to stage where I don't have to get off the bench and shout like an idiot at them, but it took that today to get people forward.

"I have a leadership group among the senior players and they wanted to play a slightly deeper block. In the first 20 minutes, we sat too deep. There was no need to be scared. I pushed the team 20 yards further up the pitch and we engaged. We started nicking it off them and breaking. I believe our team is a front foot, high pressing, football machine that, at its best, can beat anybody if they try to play through us."

  14. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 85 mins

    West Brom 0-1 Sheff Utd

West Brom's Jay Rodriguez knocks the ball into the net from just about the first decent cross Mason Holgate has managed all night, but it was too far ahead of the striker who throws and arm at it to knock the ball in.

He was never going to get away with that and is booked. To be fair to the striker, he was quick to acknowledge that he had diverted the ball into the net illegally.

Dwight Gayle then has another sight of goal but his close-range strike is comfortably saved by Dean Henderson.

Some decent pressure building in the closing stages.

    West Brom 0-1 Sheff Utd

Sheffield United sub Gary Madine spanks an effort straight at Sam Johnstone. It was a lovely break and the shooting chance was well created and so inviting but it's easy as you like for the Baggies keeper.

Moments later Blades defender Enda Stevens is booked.

Billy Sharp get across his man and sends a header just wide. A lovely swept, first-time cross from Oliver Norwood find the veteran striker who cannot quite get enough on the ball to send it in to the far post and it goes wide.

Sharp, a scorer of 22 goals already this season, holds his head in his hands. He fancied that.

There are just over 10 minutes left, plus stoppage time.

Sheffield United respond by making their final change.

Chris Basham comes on for Martin Cranie in defence.

  20. Postpublished at 74 mins

    West Brom 0-1 Sheff Utd

Almost bang on cue, Dwight Gayle gets free on the right for West Brom but no one is making a near-post run and the striker's centre is easily collected by keeper Dean Henderson.

Then a minute later Gayle does get the chance he has been waiting for, but just makes a total mess of a volley from ten yards out.

    What a chance.
