Queen of the South 2-0 Dundee

Dundee are edging into the game and J, externalack Lambert has a shot deflected for a corner then new signing Andy Dales forces a save from goalkeeper Alan Martin.

However, Queens are looking comfortable and remain dangerous on the break.

Any striker would have been proud of that finish. Pity for Ruaridh Donaldson is that it was in his own net

    Declan McDaid

Ayr manager Ian McCall made two changes at the break and his side are quickly back into it with a goal from Declan McDaid.

It was created by Lawrence Shankland, the star striker, who has been troubled by injury, coming off the bench and the home fans will be hoping he can inspire a fightback.

    Ruaridh Donaldson (own goal)

Just when Stenhousemuir were thinking of a fightback, having scored and denied their Premiership opponents any chances, Ruaridh Donaldson scores an extraordinary own goal.

There seems little danger as the defender meets a wayward cross at the back post but powers a header into his own net off the underside of the crossbar.

Aberdeen's attitude in the second half has been all wrong. They've thought the job was done. They are looking pretty ordinary as they are taking that extra touch

  6. Aberdeen caught cold?published at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

    Stenhousemuir 1-3 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

If you look at the goal - Andy Munro is inside the box, he's unmarked, it's not a particularly good header. Should Joe Lewis have come for him? Certainly there should've been a marker, they've went to sleep on the set-piece and I'm sure Derek McInnes will be unhappy. They've given them a little bit of hope that shouldn't be there

  7. Stenny have 'different attitude'published at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

    Stenhousemuir 1-3 Aberdeen

    Quote Message

Stenhousemuir have been really positive in the second half. It's the first sign that they are actually capable of doing this, because the first half they were pretty timid and didn't cause Aberdeen any issues. But they've been sent out in the second half with a different attitude

GOAL Stenhousemuir 1-3 Aberdeenpublished at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

    Andy Munro

Having turned the ball over the bar superbly to deny Mark Ferry, Dons goalkeeper Joe Lewis looks a bit suspect as he fails to prevent Andy Munro's downward header from the resulting corner crossing the line.

Could we have a game on our hands after all? Stenny have certainly started the second half with much more ambition and intent.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

    Stenhousemuir 0-3 Aberdeen

Mark Ferry's thunderbolt forces the first save of the game from Joe Lewis.

And what a stop from the Dons goalkeeper, turning it over the crossbar.

  10. HALF-TIME Ayr United 0-3 Inverness CTpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

Having been bumped out of the Scottish Cup by juniors Auchinleck Talbot, Ayr are heading for another embarrassment.

Nathan Austin has scored twice and Liam Polworth added a third as Caley Thistle have taken advantage of some terrible home defending.

It looks like the visitors are heading up to fourth in the Championship, denying Ayr the chance to move top on goal difference ahead of Ross County.

Dobbie dumps Dundee. The morning paper headlines await as the veteran striker's two goals has Championship side Queen of the South in control against their Premiership visitors.

It is looking like it is going to be Aberdeen at home to Queens in the fifth round.

  12. Inniss takes the blamepublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

Queen of the South 2-0 Dundee

Dundee manager Jim McIntyre responded to that second Queens goal by hauling off Ryan Inniss off and replacing the defender with Callum Moore. The Englishman obviously shouldering the blame.

Queens have been forced into a change, with the injured Michael Doyle replaced by Connor Murray. That's a forward for a striker, so it has meant a change in formation.

  13. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

Queen of the South 2-0 Dundee

Big appeal from the home fans as Kyle Jacobs goes down in the Dundee penalty box.

No penalty given. That would have surely been game over had that been given - assuming a certain Mr Dobbie completed his hat-trick.

I don't think Dundee will come back from 3-0 down, so the next goal is vital in this game. And it looks like Queen of the South are going to be the ones who will go and get it because that was an unbelievable effort from Dykes and they keep pushing for that third goal

  15. CLOSE!published at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

So nearly a third goal for Queens as Lyndon Dykes attempts an audacious long-range effort.

His shot leaves goalkeeper Seny Dieng trailing but slips just wide.

  20. HALF-TIME Stenhousemuir 0-3 Aberdeenpublished at 20:16 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

The fairytale of Ochilview is not to be repeated.

Stenhousemuir went into the fourth-round tie dreaming of a repeat of their 1995 Scottish Cup win over Aberdeen.

But an early Niall McGinn goal made it look unlikely, Sam Cosgrove's penalty made it even more so and Greg Stewart, who won the spot kick, ended the League One side's hopes of an upset.
