GOAL Stenhousemuir 0-1 Aberdeenpublished at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

    Niall McGinn

Niall McGinn misses a great opportunity earlier but makes no mistake this time.

Scott Wright uses his pace to burst forward and his cut-back is slotted in by the Northern Ireland winger.

A repeat of that famous Stenny upset against Aberdeen is looking unlikely even this early.

Queen of the South v Dundee (19:45)

The 20-year-old has played nearly 50 games for the Ayrshire team, including their recent Scottish Cup tie against Forfar Athletic.

Queen of the South v Dundee (19:45)

Queen of the South manager Gary Naysmith on BBC Radio Scotland: "We're looking forward to the game.

"The first game we put in a good performance and felt we were unlucky not to win.

"But what I've tried to stress to the players is that game has been and gone, Dundee have improved since then.

"I watched them against Hearts and they were excellent and, by all accounts, they played well albeit lost against Motherwell. If we want to win the game tonight, we'll need to improve.

"First and foremost, we want to get back to winning ways after losing on Saturday - Partick Thistle were slightly better than us and deserved their victory - but we're not used to losing two games in a row and want to make sure that doesn't happen to night."

As mentioned earlier, a lack of numbers means manager Colin McMenamin comes out of retirement to appear on the substitute's bench.

  11. 'We're a scalp for Queens'published at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

Queen of the South v Dundee (19:45)

Dundee manager Jim McIntyre on BBC Radio Scotland:We need to be better in front of the goal with our final ball, that's where we let ourselves down on Saturday [against Motherwell], but there was still a lot of positives to take.

"We know how difficult it's going to be down here and the surface will be tricky. Queens are a very good side at home, so we've got to start the game positively.

"Any time you're up against a Championship side in the top league you've got to do a lot well, because we're a scalp and they'll be looking at it exactly like that."

  12. Hoban, Wright and McGinn startpublished at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2019

    Stenhousemuir v Aberdeen (19:30)

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes on BBC Radio Scotland: "The Scottish Cup's a big deal for us. We say at the start of every season, we want to go the full way in the cup competitions.

"We had an opportunity to try to deal with business at home and we were well comfortable in the game, but in any game, failing to get that second goal can come back to bite you and it did.

"Thankfully we've got a chance to rectify a few wrongs from the first game.

"Stenhousemuir will treat this as a cup final and we get that, but we are looking forward to the game."

Stenhousemuir manager Colin McMenamin on BBC Radio Scotland: "Big night, big crowd, big atmosphere and it should be a good night.

"It was always going to be difficult up there at Pittodrie and to get the performance was great for everybody and the community.

"There is plenty of confidence because we've been playing well."

Asked whether his side could repeat that famous 1995 win, McMenamin says: "I've been reminded about it a million times.

"We're going to be organised and we're going to have to ride our luck, but at the same time we've got a bit of quality."

The 37-year-old former Livingston and Dundee striker recently said retired from playing to concentrate on his new role as manager but names himself on the bench tonight.

"It is unfortunate we got three injuries on Saturday and a couple of new signings are not eligible, so I've had to put myself on the bench, but I'm here for emergencies only," he explains.

"If it goes to penalties, I might throw myself on."

Stenhousemuir are hoping to emulate the side who famously knocked Aberdeen out of the Scottish Cup in 1995.

Manager Terry Christie made the duffel coat famous that night as he led his side, who like tonight's team were in the third tier, to one of the biggest cup upsets.

    Scottish Cup fourth round

It's a big night of Scottish Cup replays, with two top-flight sides under threat of being knocked out after being held to draws on their own patch.

Championship side Queen of the South host Dundee, while Stenhousemuir, who sit bottom of League One, are dreaming of another (more of that later) giant-killing act against Aberdeen.

Meanwhile, there is also an important game in the Championship, with Ayr United having the chance to take over at the top from Ross County should they win at home to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
