"We're at home and we know we need to win games. The back four were solid tonight but it's good for Jamie Vardy and Demarai Gray to get a goal too."

"We will probably be in the bottom three when we go to Wolves and people will be writing us off. I know my team for the Wolves game and I want people who will be in the trenches because I was let down by one or two tonight. I'm not going to throw the towel in and I'll make sure we are ready for Saturday."

"We have a big test on Sunday and I know how important it is for the fans and our opponents. We knew how we lost the first game at Anfield and we can achieve victory at our own ground."

Nuno Espirito Santo was in no mood for a major assessment of Wolves' defeat at Huddersfield tonight.

His post-match press conference lasted three minutes.

This was the most interesting answer.

"Not one of the best performances. First half no shots on goal. Didn’t play good. Congratulations to Huddersfield."

In fairness, that just about sums it up.

Leicester defender Harry Maguire on BBC MOTD: "It's great - we're back to winning ways which is massive tonight.

"We had to go out and enjoy ourselves tonight but the three points was most important. It was nice to get the lead which we haven't done recently and hold on to get the win.

"We didn't find out [about Brendan Rodgers] until a few hours before kick-off. it's an exciting time for the club - i'm excited to get started, we all know his profile and what he's done. We're all looking forward to working with him.

"Celtic are a massive club so it shows how big Leicester are getting and our ambitions. It's exciting times. We know he's coached a lot of young players and we hope he can bring them on - we're all excited.

"We want to look up rather than down now. The performances haven't been too bad but the results haven't been good enough."

    FT: Huddersfield 1-0 Wolves

    Huddersfield Town

More from Jan Siewert: "You can't believe how much they suffered when they are not winning. They deserved everything form the game. They left their hearts on the pitch.

"They showed another face so that's a big thing for the squad today. As a manager you have to take decisions. I have to do that sometimes. I believe in all of the players and today they showed that.

"Since the time I arrived, I said we still have a chance and we believe that. There are still games to go. We will keep on fighting.

"I am so proud. I know Wolves have so much quality so I knew it would be a difficult game. But they had no shots on target which makes me proud.

"Demeaco Duhaney had a few problems at half-time so I had to take care of him. He played a very good game in the first half. It made me proud to see him on the pitch.

"The staff, all the people who are working here deserve credit. You can feel the atmosphere of celebration. The first win is always special. The people working here are so brilliant, I am proud to be a part of them.

Wolves defender Ryan Bennett: "We played against them earlier in the season and they played a lot better that day. We weren't at the races and we need to clear that up.

"We were flat today. The things we were trying weren't working. We were in the game then concede right at the end was sloppy.

"It was sloppy from both teams. It couldn't have been a good game to watch but those are the games you have to dig in."

"I think we can all be proud to be Huddersfield this evening. I don't know what I felt [when they scored]. I was just thinking 'how many minutes are left?' I was just trying to organise the defence.

"I said at half-time, maybe we will only get one chance but we have to put it in. I can't believe how brilliant these supporters are. I am just so happy for them.

"I have been working with the lads for four weeks. Today I had to take some decisions. The important thing for us was that we knew things would come, we just had to keep working.

"The lads were really disappointed after Newcastle. It is not just physically, the brain has to be fresh and that is why I took other players today.

"Demeaco Duhaney showed that I could trust him. Don't put too much pressure on these young lads. We have to take care of them."

I thought Burnley gave it their best shot in the second half they had balls in the box that could have dropped for them. It was end-to-end stuff, two teams fighting to get the points they need to stay in the Premier League.

"We must look at the next one. We have to improve. We have a tough game at Molineux now."

"We knew this was a big game - we had an objective and that was getting the three points - so I was glad to contribute and hopefully we can take this into Saturday.

"We're all looking forward to working with the new manager. I've watched him manage a lot of top sides and what he's done with young players has been good especially. As a club we've got a good balance of experienced players and good young players so we're looking forward to starting."
