The manager (Maurizio Sarri) could go and Gary Cahill could out-see the manager.
Suddenly you get to the last day of the transfer window and think 'my case isn't that strong, am I making the right decision?'
He's 32 and why not wait until the summer and assess all offers when they come in?

Gary Cahill must think he is a better standard than Fulham.
He would have had nudges form other clubs and he will be thinking 'why would I want to be in a relegation struggle when I could go somewhere else'?
Still no movement from Chelsea defender Gary Cahill. Fulham are one of the clubs reportedly interested. Will anything come to fruition?

People much prefer to do their business in the summer as they have more options and can negotiate the price better because everyone is in the closed season
Most people are tending to survive at a club a lot longer.

Dan Mckeown: If Everton can get permanent deals done for Mirallas, Martina and Bolasie, it will surely be our best ever window. I'd also be interested in a six month loan of Charlie Austin.
Steve Clarke: Close pal has said Gary Cahill is on way to Arsenal training ground for a medical in £10 million pound move. Would make sense.

In recent weeks, Arsenal have been linked with PSG's Christopher Nkunku.
That is still ongoing but it is not likely to come to fruition and Arsenal's transfer business is probably done.
They will be content with the Denis Suarez deal but it was a not an ideal window for them with head of recruitment Sven Mislintat leaving, but they come out of it in fourth place by virtue of scoring more goals and another midfielder.
Swansea City
Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony has joined Qatari club Al-Arabi on loan until the end of the season.
His contract with the Welsh club will expire this summer after his spell with the Doha-based club has finished.
Watford
Promising Watford defender Ben Wilmot, 19, has joined Italian club Udinese on loan until the end of the season.
Like a new signing and all that...

Four more signings have been made in the English Football League just now...

Denis Suarez has completed his loan move until the end of the season with the option to buy. He was the target that Arsenal had been pursuing throughout the transfer window. He is a box-to-box midfielder and he has worked with Unai Emery before. I know people will say that is not what they needed, but that is what they were looking at for some time.
They had been targeting a second loan move. Yannick Carrasco had been linked but the loan fee did not match Chinese club Dalian Yifang's value. I was told the loan fee was not even serious to be considered – but the wages were acceptable although it was down on his current salary.
Another option was Ivan Perisic. He did fantastically well at the World Cup but not so at Inter Milan. The Italians wanted guaranteed money but Arsenal could only provide a loan deal with an option to buy. That was not enough so Arsenal came back with a loan move with an option to buy, and a penalty if they did not buy - but Inter did not want that either.
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham winger Anthony Georgiou, 21, has joined Spanish club Levante on loan for the remainder of the season.
He made his senior debut as a substitute in the 3-0 Champions League victory to APOEL.

The recruitment in the summer has been much better and in the January window there is a reluctance to panic buy and pay the inflated prices.
It's less of a trading window and more clubs want to do their business in the summer.
There is not as much of a domino effect - remember when Andy Carroll moved to Liverpool from Newcastle because Torres went to Chelsea? You don't get that now.

It is fantastic for Peter Crouch and a no-brainer for Sean Dyche. He knows he is not going to be playing week-in-week-out but he will be going there to make a difference in the final 15-20 minutes.
He is a great character and a great personality to have around the club. Sam Vokes is not necessarily number one at Burnley anymore and he wants to play regularly.
I do not think it is bad business because he was never the quickest, and he relied on his technique and his know how, and I do not think it will diminish over the next six months.

Stewart Ayrey: Most Burnley fans are livid with the club. Selling Vokes is heart breaking, but the lack of ambition the club have shown by signing Crouch is bitterly disappointing. A great player in his day...ten years ago.
Please can we all just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Peter Crouch is now back in the Premier League.
Day made.
