  3. Gerrard wary of Dons' late showpublished at 18:39 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2019

    Aberdeen v Rangers (19:45)

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is yet to get the better of Aberdeen in three attempts this season.

Substitute Bruce Anderson, now on loan at Dunfermline, knocked in a last-gasp equaliser at Pittodrie on the opening day of the season, while the Dons won the League Cup semi-final at Hampden and their last visit to Ibrox, both by a 1-0 margin.

"It's a big game for us, a big three points at stake," said Gerrard yesterday. "I don't think previous games are important anymore, but obviously we will respect Aberdeen because they took two important results from us late in games.

"We have to take our chances when they come about, we have to be productive in the final third because we have been guilty of missing chances. To be fair to Joe Lewis, he's made some really good saves against us. We have been guilty of giving silly set-pieces away and being punished on a couple of occasions late on."

  4. Hibs hunting for new bosspublished at 18:35 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2019

    Celtic v Hibernian (19:45)

Caretaker duo Eddie May and Grant Murray take charge of their third match after Neil Lennon's strange exit from Hibs.

Will they have a new manager in place for Saturday's Scottish Cup tie with Raith Rovers?

They have spoken to Paul Heckingbottom and been linked with a few others down south. Will any of the candidates be at Celtic Park for a peek this evening?

Hibs have triumphed in their last two home games against Celtic but are winless in their last 10 Premiership visits to the east end of Glasgow. (D3 L7)

  5. A busy night in the Premiershippublished at 18:30 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2019

The winter break seems like a long time ago now as the games keep coming thick and fast.

All of the Premiership sides are in action tonight, with Aberdeen v Rangers catching the eye in particular.

The home side can jump into second place with a victory at Pittodrie but Steven Gerrard's men will be in confident mood after a hat-trick of wins.

Leaders Celtic must deal with a long injury list as they go in search of a sixth successive win in 2019 against managerless Hibs.

Bottom-of-the-table St Mirren have lost five in a row since they beat Motherwell on 22 December but the visitors to Paisley have hit form of late and go looking for a fifth league success on the trot.
